INTRODUCTION
In corporate sector both operation as well as service Management play important role
in development of productivity at higher scale. In this competitive world, it is important to be
aware about operations of company so that services are presented accordingly (Bosua, 2016).
Main purpose of this report is to understand the importance of operation of service
management. Unilever a British based company headquartered in in United Kingdom.
Enterprise deals in consumer goods and other products at global level. Operations as well as
service management both are necessary to be considered on the basis of which it is easy for
an organisation to carry out their activities. This report comprises of operation management
practice, impacts of identified operation management practice within enterprise, involvement
of technology within chosen practice and supporting functions that are linked to this
operation management practice.
MAIN BODY

In business sector, practices are being adopted to fulfil objectives in a timely period.
So in context of Unilever they also so are being using practice of operation management
which is operational performance. This practice is further discussed below-
Operational performance-
Operational performance is defined as process of increasing and improving the
responsiveness quality cost and efficiency of a business as well as service. Each and every
enterprise focuses on operational performance which is beneficial for their working functions
and other activities. In relevance of selected entity, they also carry out this practice of
operational performance (Zhen, 2017).
Importance of operational performance-
Business operations and functions are being carried out at larger scale and it became
important for a particular organisation to increase their overall performance. In reference of
Chosen Corporation, as they operating large number of products as well as services it is
essential for them to increase performance of a business in efficient manner. With the help of
this practice it is beneficial for enterprise to improve their overall standards and principles.
Moreover, it focuses on various activities such as measure and monitoring actual production

according to set standards. It is duty of a manager to ensure that these activities within this
practice are implemented effectively. In this operation performance, there are three levels
which have been considered and adopted by Unilever which are further explained below-
Societal level:
It is a level in which it depicts the using of resources available to organization at
optimum level so that sustainable development is being achieved and no problem is faced by
society or environment that are responsible for delivering of these resources. In context of
Unilever, to increase their profitability ratio is main motive and besides this they also focus
on adapting sustainable approaches (Zhang, 2019).
Furthermore marketing department and superiors keep record of every use of resource
within enterprise. It helps them to manage their cost and other expenses.
Strategic level:
It is another level of operation performance in which it shows that different types of
strategies and tactics are present which drive performance within corporation. It is an
important level as because studies are useful for improving overall functioning of company at
highest scale. In case of chosen entity, they also assures that strategies are being adopted the
proper considerations so that uncertainty of events and other risk are easily identified and
reduced. With the help of this implementation of strategies they are able to deal with new
challenges and competitors with specific market which is beneficial for carrying out other
activities properly.
Other than this management of Unilever learn & focuses on their performance by
examining experienced mistakes and comparing those mistakes from new one. Through this
learning it is easy for them to make decisions regarding their work and which also help them
to reduce mistakes in future period.
Operations level-
It is last aspect of operational performance in which it includes factors which are
linked with delivering of a positive result to customer and targeted audience. This comprises
of following factors which are flexibility of operations in which this factor is mainly
concerned with carry out overall product line in correct way to meet with all demands and
requirements (Wakui, 2016). In relation of Unilever, flexibility of operation is being
interlinked with their product and other activities. Another factor is cost variation in which it
