3MANAGEMENT
Introduction:
Investment in foreign markets is one of the most profitable investment options to maximize profits and diversify expenses as
well as losses. Tao (2017) mention that, investments in foreign businesses enable the investors to generate higher returns on
investments since they provide a broader base of assets in which they can invest. This is because the investors by investing in foreign
markets can diversify the losses or lower returns which they may face owing to factors like economic slowdown in their respective
home countries. Keeley and Ikeda (2017) mention that, countries on the other hand invite foreign direct investments in order to
encourage economic growth. Thus, it is evident from the discussion that foreign direct investments prove profitable both for the
investors and the nations receiving the investments. The aim of the paper would be exploring the opportunity to invest which a group
of foreign investors are exploring. The chosen venue of investment would be an imaginary retail chain business called The Utility Plc.
and the chosen investment destination would be London, the United Kingdom. The researcher namely, the entrepreneur residing in
London would conduct both secondary and primary analysis of the conditions of the retail market in London. The secondary analysis
would consist of taking into account the demographical aspects, the target customer segments which the retail chain would target with
its products and the expected demands for the products which the retail chain could expect in the city. The primary analysis which the
entrepreneur would conduct would consist of interview of 8 respondents. The findings from their interviews would be integrated with
the findings from the secondary analysis to identify the strategies which the entrepreneur would recommend before the foreign
investors.
