INTRODUCTION
Operation management is defined as area of management that is concerned with
designing and controlling the process of production and redesigning business operations in the
production of good and services. This is important for management to analyse the business
situation and formulate planning which can help to deal with changes and bring the higher
production and profitability (Britnell, 2019). This can be explained as administration of business
practices to create the high level of efficiency and managing the all activities. In other words,
operation management is way and process of converting materials, labour in to finished goods
that can help to increase the organizational performance and profitability. The aim of
organization is to understand the needs of their customers and provide them optimum solution
which can help to provide the high range of productivity and profitability. To understand about
operation and management Mediclinic City Hospital that is general private hospital providing
range of healthcare services to customers that can help to increase the satisfaction level and
managing all activities. This report covers operations strategy of the firm, current and long term
challenges which are facing by company, 3SCM strategies that contributes in successful
enterprise, and how AI platform enhance overall business operations. In Task 2, it discusses
about project plan for implementation of AI software by enhancing operations.

1. Introduction of the Chosen Organization, principles of operations and current corporate
strategy
Mediclinic City Hospital is healthcare group company that is operating their business by
managing all activities and functions effectively. This organization was founded in 2008 in
Dubai, UAE with 280 patient bed. This is large size organization which is operating their
business by understanding the needs of their patients and providing them quality of healthcare
services. In this organization more than 2000 employees are working that offers highest standard
level of healthcare services for people from preterm babies to geriatric patients. The management
understand the needs and bring the changes in their organization by developing activities and
performance. This healthcare group operates 7 hospitals and 20 clinics where it operating the
business in changing environment developing the business effectively. MCH is committed to

enhance the quality of life of their patients by providing cost efficient, high quality, multi
disciplinary medical services, and delivered with personal touch (Du, Wen and Zhang, 2019).
Operation principles uses by Mediclinic City Hospital
The aim of health care organization is to increase their brand image by improving their
service. The vision of Mediclinic City Hospital is to be partner of choice that people trust for all
their healthcare needs. The mission is to enhance and improve the quality of life by providing
high quality services, monitoring and controlling cost and bringing flexible changes in research
process that can help to attain the higher productivity and profitability.
The principles of operation are as defined:
Quality Assurance – It can be explained as important principle which should be use by
healthcare organization to ensure that their company is providing better quality of healthcare
services and equipment. Mediclinic City Hospital is following this principle for the purpose of
operating their organization by providing better quality of healthcare services. This has JCIA that
is standard follows the international quality care. According to this, better quality of healthcare
services are providing by organization which helps to maintain higher profitability. JCIA
renewed every 3 years in case of hospital did not meet with their standard. In this hospital,
quality department conduct monitoring visit to make sure all departments are implementing
required policies and protocols (Ferry and et.al., 2019).
Sustainability: Every organization wants to sustain in competitive environment by
managing all activities and providing better quality of healthcare services. This is important for
organization how patients can be get a good and healthy life. Mediclinic City Hospital is
following this principle by providing special and unique healthcare services which are better than
their competitors that helps to sustain in competitive market. As it provides new option for
delivery without changing the prices MCH is getting more clients that helps to be leader for
waterbirth delivery and supports to secure the sustainability in market.
Cost: This can be explained as critical operation principle which uses by organization to
increase their sales and number of clients. Due to presence of huge number of competitors of
Mediclinic City Hospital, it is needed to charge reasonable price from their clients which can
help to attracts the number of customers and attain the higher profitability in changing
environment. This also helps to develop the image of hospital (Giménez, Keith and Prior,
2019).

Therefore, it has explained that principle and strategy of operation management are aligns
with corporate strategy as it identify what is going on trend and how to attain the competitive
advantages in market.
Inputs: This means and data and resources which uses by organization or MCH to
complete the task in certain period of time and develop the business growth by improving
business performance (Karaca, Moonis, Zhang and Gezgez, 2019).
Transformation process: This means any activity or group of activities that takes one or
more inputs, transform and add value to them, that can help to increase the operation of
organization. For instance MCH transform all ill patients in to healthy patients that assures them
better quality of services.
Operation challenges that faced by MCH: This is large size hospital that faced the
problems in operation as healthcare infrastructure, time of recovery, cost of treatment, lack of
equipment and lack of clients trust etc. which are needs to be overcome. The management has
analysed the all problems and bring the changes in their services that supported to operate all
activities effectively.

Operational strategy can be defined as important planning of organization that uses to
analyse the problems and attain goals effectively. MCH is large size hospital that is formulating
operational strategies by analysing situation of their company and attaining goals by energetic,
efficient and effective operations that helps to attain the competitive advantages (Khan and
et.al., 2020). The goal of MCH is provide a new natural delivery option without pain through
providing Water birth services to pregnant ladies. For attaining the goals different strategies are
as followed:

Secured funds: MCH is maintaining secured funds by developing natural option and
arranging the funds in necessities activities which can help to operate the business effectively.
This inspire sponsors through successful story and quality of outcomes (Materla, Cudney and
Antony, 2019).
Integration of collaboration: The corporate strategy of MCH is to do normal delivery
with natural pain relief that are integrated of collaboration agreements. The helps in Bridge
complexity and minimize completion time that supports to attain the business objectives.
Supply chain management: With the help of this strategy MCH is securing material equipment,
partnership equipment, partnership collaboration and call of agreement that supports to fill the
requirement.

there is need to provide better quality of equipment and machineries that can help to manage the

favour their organization to operate their business influencing number of customers. On the other
side, due to Pandemic government has ordered to stop to providing Water birth services until all
situation become under control that affected the profitability negatively.
Economical factor: This factor is related to economic growth, interest rates, taxation,
financial capabilities, wages rates and disposable income of consumers etc. This factor impacted

badly on MCH as due to Covid-19 the economic status of people reduced as employment rate
has decreased that reduced the organizational productivity and profitability.
Social factor: The involvement of social factor is demographics, population growth,
health consciousness, consumer buying behaviour and career attitudes that needed to concern
while running a business. By considering the problem and pain of ladies MCH has introduced
Water birth service as it grab the Arab and Non-Arab clients by providing them services that can
help to increase the organizational performance. Thus, impacts of such factor on operation and
management of chosen hospital is positively.
Technological factor: This is important for organisation to focuses on technology,
communication, copy rights and innovation that helps to operate and run the business effectively.
Technology is uses by doctors and employees of MCH by brining as light decoration and
Bluetooth speaker and other facilities that can help ladies to feel relief that helps to increase
business performance (Patel and Desai, 2019).
Legal factor: This is relating to health and safety, consumer rights and laws, future
legislations, consumer rights and laws etc. MCH is following all regulations which are
formulated by government and following up all issues by solving their problems in pregnancy
that increases hospital performance in competitive environment.
Environmental factor: Environment is becoming major factor that is important to
consider and manage the all business activities. UAE is hot country where management of each
organization needs to provide the services effectively. Due to Covid-19 this factor affected the
MCH positive as doctors are wearing all preventive clothes and making efforts to reduce

Therefore, by using internal and external factors MAH is increasing their sales and
profitability in the changing environment and maintain the good activities effectively. In this,
environment is analysed by management and implement all government regulations that supports
to maintain all operational activities effectively and develop the business.

Supply change management is the combination of processes integration and management
of flow of goods and services that increases business performance. MCH is applying SCM
strategies such as:

The continuous flow of product / service : This means organization should bring
product and services as per demand of their customers that can help to influence them and
increase sales. This strategy is uses by MCH as they analysis the market and brought new way of
delivery that is water birth babies that can help to increase the number of clients and manage the
higher performance.
Lean management: This is another strategy which uses by management to solve
problems that causes waste in a system. By following this strategy MCH is reducing all
wastages, errors and complex system that can help to provide the better quality of services

industry that can help to provide the better quality of health care services. MCH is using this
strategy for preventing clinical and administrative problems that can arise while providing health
care services. This approach increases the patient satisfaction and continuous improvement in
organizational process by maintaining quality of water birth delivery.
Six Sigma: This is another approach which uses by organisation to increase the
performance and productivity. This can be explained as computational method for optimising
processes under quality management. MCH is using this approach for maintaining corporate
culture by providing better quality of health care services that dedicated for providing excellent
management by maintaining health care standard and developing the productivity.

AI refers as Artificial Intelligence which is important framework that uses by MCH to
enhance the business operation by analysing data throughout the health care system can help to
provide the better quality of service. This understand the needs of trend and bring the new
technology in their hospitals that helps to automate and predict processes which are uses in
hospitals and Water birth services. By using this, doctors of MCH predict ICU transfers, improve
clinical framework and managing all problems by analysing that can help to operate the business
and getting competitive advantages. Moreover, AI pinpoint a patient's risk of hospital acquired
infection and suggest what should do in critical situation which helps to enhance the
organizational performance overall.

Project Plan
The project is a report constituted to reach to specific goal. The aim of making project
plan is to reach to a specific objective. The project plan is a effective study complied to reach to
the effective conclusion. The project so developed for the MCH hospital is to find the
effectiveness of AI technology on achieving its objectives. The plan of the project is as follows: Project Objectives : The objectives are the guiding point for the project. The objectives
sets the outline and gives the structure to the project plan. The objectives so set should be
specific, clear and achievable. The objectives of this project is to see the effectiveness of
deploying AI technology to the operations of MCH hospital helping them to achieve their
objectives (Shajari, Guerrero and Javidi, 2020). Organizations objectives : The objectives provides the direction to the project. The
objectives so set should be in line with the organisation strategy and structure. The MCH
hospital wants to be reduce the real time operations by deploying AI technology with
they wants to gain the market prominence. The another objective is to use the innovation
in their operations. As, with use of this technology it will gain the competitive advantage.
Another objective is to provide all speciality treatment under one roof. Project scope : The scope is referred to feature of the product or service so employed.
The scope covers the area of the gathering all possible facts related with use of
technology in respect to organisation objectives and stakeholders requirements. The

would gain efficiency in their operations. For patients also the treatment would be easy as
at one place they could avail all facilities with reduced time. The hospital would also be
able to save as many live with use of this technology. The hospital would gain increased

Karthik, 2020). Project roles and responsibilities : The project will require the coordination of various
members to carry out this project effectively. The project manager is the main head who
assign the duties and responsibilities to various person and supervises the project. The
recruiting team who will create the team. The leader who will provide direction. The
marketing and research team who will conduct the required research and will keep
updated with all the technology and will conduct the collection of data. The project
manager carry forward the details of all required resources to business analyst. The
analyst is responsible for verifying that deliverables are meeting out and they suggest in
defining various opportunities to the organisation. The full team plays an important role
in carrying of the project. The constant feedback and communication is maintained in all
the time (Stanhope and Lancaster, 2019).

identify who vest power and interest in our project and on basis that we categorise on
high and low differentiators. The people with high power and high interest needs to be
kept satisfied always as they have high interest in the project. The people with low power
and low interest are not that much important and in moderate power and interest needs to
be updated to an extent. The identification and plotting of stakeholders benefits largely to
run project successfully (Zhang, Wang and Lin, 2019).
Project funding : The funding is an important part of any project continuation. The much
