PART A
What is JIT (Just in Time)? What is the purpose of JIT implementation?
JIT is undertaken as the effective inventory system and the effective management
strategy that significantly align with the prominent raw materials in terms of suppliers directly
with effective production schedules. In regard of this, company prominently employ for the
inventory strategies in terms of increasing the efficiency and also tends to eliminate waste by
receiving products on the grounds of effective requirements for the production process that
eliminate inventory cost. Along with this, this method need effective process to forecast the
demand in an accurate manner (Schlosser and et. al., 2016). Moreover, the JIT inventory system
effectively contract with effective strategies for the producers that prominently hold effective
inventories for enough product to absorb effective market demand. In regard of this, the overall
objective of this methodology is to eliminate time for the effective production system and also
response suitable time from the suppliers and customers. It is also undertake as the prominent
type of lean methodology which is designed in terms of improving efficiency, eliminate cost and
reduce waste by receiving goods only when they are required. This concept prominently focus on
the effective identification and correcting suitable obstacles for the manufacturing and
production process as it depicts the hidden issue of inventory. In regard of this, the basic
objective of JIT is to improve the inventory turnover and eliminate holding for the connected
cost. Besides this, the prominent concept was developed in the Japanese firm while placing order
for the materials for the same day of the production of commodity.
Purpose: Service industries and organisations tends to opt JIT in terms of improving the
efficiency of an organisation and eliminate cost. For this, the suitable system need manufactures
in terms of purchasing at the time of customer orders to create the effective demand (Lai and
Cheng, 2016). Moreover, organisations also tends to develop effective relationship to make sure
effective parts in order to reach for the facility in time to produce products considering the
request of customers. Considering the service industry, it prominently has effective purpose to
execute JIT which is mentioned as: Eliminate inventory cost: With the help of JIT inventory system it tends to eliminate the
effective amount of material considering the production facility. For this, organisations
effectively eliminate the cost of store and maintain additional inventory by eliminating

risk of materials in terms of becoming obsolete for the effective storage. In regard of this,
prominent inventory quantities tends to tie up with the funds of company which is
beneficial for the other areas considering the research and development of new products.
Lead time reduction: JIT prominently use pull system in terms of moving the materials
by the production cycle as considering the manufacturing business, materials does not
move to the another stage until the existing step is ready (Phogat and Gupta, 2019).
Besides this, it tends to eliminate the reposition of unfinished products within the
production process. For this, company eliminates effective production speed and also
process their engineers to identify the maximum quantity for the manufacturing process
while workers are waiting to move for the production more efficiently.

What are the benefits of implementing JIT concept? Is there solid evidence of JIT benefits in
research?
The JIT inventory management system is beneficial in terms of eliminating wastage by
improving efficiency and productivity and effectively contribute towards the smooth production
flow. In regard of this, shorter production cycle significantly eliminate financial cost considering
the inventory and labour cost. In regard of this, there are various benefits which is undertaken as
the effective benefit for executing JIT concept which are discussed as: Smooth production flow: It is undertaken as the effective benefit and key feature of the
JIT system undertaking the uniform production process considering the effective arrival
of materials from the suppliers to the prominent delivery of products to customers.
Moreover, this system has the effective objective in terms of preventing the fluctuating
production rates that results in delays of excess work in process inventory.
