1.1 Functionalities
Whenever we want to brush our teeth, first wet the head of the brush and apply tooth
paste. Then give gentle movements on tooth and four quadrants of mouth for 3 seconds. If the
blood is bleeding in our tooth gums, then the user should consult a dental specialist immediately.
Timer:
Timer is used to set the brushing time. There are two different options available in
electric tooth brush. They are ‘Professional timer’ and ‘2 Minutes timer’. In two minutes timer,
the brushing time is set to 2 minutes. After 2 minutes passed, the electric brush will stop and alert
the user by green light with stuttered sound. In professional timer, the brushing time is
automatically set to 30 seconds to 40 seconds. After completing this time limit the user will be
indicated through glowing green light with stuttered sound (Parizi, Mohammadi, Afshar,
Hajizamani & Tayebi, 2011).
Pressure Sensor:
Pressure sensor is fixed to activate the head of tooth brush. The mode of operation will be
changed based on the given pressure. If the pressure exceeds the limit, then the green light will
be changed into red light.

How the timer and the mode of operation work when the pressure is changed?
If the user gives the pressure that exceeds the given limit, then the green light will be
changed to red light. The cleaning mode also varied from <Deep Clean> or <Daily Clean> mode
into <Sensitive> mode.
The excessive pressure will be checked periodically for every particular time by giving
equal pressure level on the tooth brush. The sensor is fixed on this device for determining the
pressure given on the brush. This mode will be disabled automatically by enabling the <Tongue
Cleaning> mode ("Oral-B: 3D vs 2D brushing action. | Brushing modes”, 2018).
