Identification of required instruments
In this case, preparation is required for a 46MOD Composite resin restoration. As
local anaesthesia is needed, all devices need to be placed in easily available mode. Anterior
and posterior Composite placement instruments are required to contour, sculpt and put dental
composites.

Dental records are fundamental for delivering reasonable care to ensure completeness
or continuity of the treatment. The accurate, detailed paper is essential for maintaining the
communication, while the primary clinician is absent. In this context, patient medical history
also needs to be documented for obtaining all the information to provide individualised care.
It is required to maintain legal and ethical implications with the patient.
Medical details are essential to take the further step in clinical process. In order to
document those details client should be handled with disciplinary manner. It is vital to clear
all doubts and queries of the client before starting the treatment process of Mr Walker.
Healthcare workers will assist Mr Walker. During communication, health care assistant will

clarify all things to promote good and safety health-outcomes. Through this process, the
client will discuss all the details in brief.
In this case, patient data will be secured under comprehensive confidentiality policy.
Confidentiality needs to be maintained for information access, treatment-plan and other
factors. These rules will be followed as per the guidelines of Health Records and Information
Privacy Act 2002 (Ashm.org.au2013). In this case, all data will be secure in our Electronic
health record system, and it will be secured with proper sincerity. Mr Walker has entire right
to access this data to proceed any communication.
The record will be documented in both papers end EHR record procedure. The
computerised filing system will be used where Mr Walker has to provide following details.

In order to verify the details, previous health records will be taken as per client's wish.
These records can be the prescriptions. In addition, personal information will be verified
through national identity card or other legal documents.

Case Study 3
The topical anaesthetic is required to prevent pain during the medical examination. In
case of dental care, I think it is used to reduce slight discomfort while the needle is inserted.
Local anaesthetics injections are quite painful. Tissue oedemacan be occurred due to needle
anxiety, and that will distort the surgical site (Estai, Kruger and Tennant 2016). Topical
anaestheticscan reduce this issue through blocking nerve conduction at the site, and that will
reduce the level of sensation.
I will use both bulky instruments and single-handed method to transfer the
unusedlocal anaesthetic syringes. I will use my operator support for avoiding the potential of
the needle stick. The syringe will be placed in a recapping device. Operators often prefer
replacement of syringe and recapping device to avoid potential risk. This method will ensure
the infection control and safety guidelines.
I will present during the entire dental procedure for retracting an area for ensuring that
dental operator has the clear field of vision. I will transfer the tools to dentist's hand for
allowing him to pay proper attention to the patient. I will also take care of additional criteria
to ensure clinical guidelines, which can be overlooked by the dentist.
During the treatment process, I will monitor the entire activates for preventingthe
error risk of miscommunication and treatment delay. I will also try to resolvethe issue from
adverse events like nosocomial infection, immobility complications or others. I will also take
care of patient’s social needs. Social needs are to be consideredfor choosing an ethical
decision on a treatment program. Through proper skill and guideline, I will ensure the well-
being of the patient.
I will wear gloves and other protective equipment for handling the syringes and
needle in the safe manner. I will use one hand scoop technique. Through this technique, I will

feel the needle and cartridges. I willalso use needle guard and pliers for maintainingthe safety
guidelines. I will use a plastic container with well-secured lead, where I will place the used
needles. Besides, I will throw that container in the domestic rubbish bin. I will follow these
things to maintain practice protocol as per legal guidelines.
Case Study 4
It is critical to ensure that the instruments are working correctly. I will take care of
cleanliness, defects and alignment factors of equipment to ensure its functional ability. I will
perform function testing also on thatequipment. These other things I have to complete for
equipment maintenance.
In order to protect these things, I will use sterilise packaging.I must store all the things
to maintain the level ofre-processing. I will use steam sterilisation process with a proper level
of thermal disinfectant. Some medicalequipmentnot requiressterile packaging. In that case,I
will use alternative packagingfor protecting such device from thetransportation hazard.
Packagingshould be donein correct techniqueto provide protection against the external
damage.
