INTRODUCTION
Organizational behaviour is the evaluation of individual’s behaviour within a group, this is
used for developing a effective organizational strategy such that employee’s performance can be
improved resulting a better organizational performance. Sainsbury is chosen for the analysis in
this report. Sainsbury is one of the largest multinational supermarket chains of UK which
provide glossaries, general merchandise options and house hold equipments to its customers at
an affordable pricing. Analysis of organizational culture is done in this report with its theoretical
implementation. Effectiveness of theoretical wise analysis of organizational culture is evaluated
in this report. With that analysis of culture’s role on employee motivation is also done in this
report.
MAIN BOODY
1: Theoretical model of organizational culture
Sainsbury is a multinational super market chain of UK which is having large number of
employees all across the globe. Thus Handy’s theory of organizational culture can be
implemented in this scenario for evaluating Sainsbury’s working culture which is used for
evaluating the work culture (Cooper and et.al, 2017). Following are the different type of
organizational culture.
Power-
In this type of work culture decision making power is limited to only a few employees of
the organization, due to which high control over organizational activities is achieved in this type
of culture because employees are only responsible for following the orders. In this only higher
authorities are responsible for decision making sue to which employees at comparatively lower
level only have to follow these instructions provided by the higher authority (Chen, Chen, and
Sheldon, 2016). Since they only have to follow instructions provided to them due to which their
interrogation with Sainsbury reduces and this reduced interrogation will lead to reduction in their
creativity. Thus resulting decrement in organizational creativity, this limit the availability of new
product to customers, due to which customer’s engagement with the organization reduces.
Role-
In this culture employees are less likely to get orders from their higher authorities,
because their role within Sainsbury is decided by the position at which they are operating within
