INTRODUCTION
Organizational behaviour refers to the academic study of so many ways people act within
the groups. These study incudes different types of research area in order to improve job
performance, promotion of innovation along with encouraging leadership. Thus, study of
organizational behaviour having large number of technological methods which is used by so
many firms to make them productive or attractive in front of people at marketplace. Apart from
this organizational behaviour considered as most important principle which is useful for firms to
operate their ample number of activities together. Additionally, this assignment is based on 4
Com Plc was founded in 1999 with the purpose of improving communications of the UK SME’s
market (Lee and et.al., 2019). Moreover, this assignment will cover influence of power, politics
and culture on behaviour of others within firm. After this, motivate team or individual to attain
targeted goals. At last, so many concepts of philosophies of OB as well as effective or ineffective
team within business context.
TASK 1
P1 How an organization’s power, culture and politics influence team and individual behaviour
and performance
Organization’s Culture –
Culture of firm is based on so many experiences, expectations, philosophies and values
that guide people’s behaviour across the globe. In regards with 4 Com Plc, they generally
optimize their working performance first in order to develop best vision, mission and objectives
of firm. Along with this, there are so many types of culture followed by them that also influence
behaviour of team members or people (Stewart, Courtright and Manz, 2019). There is Handy’s
model used by respected firm, which is going to be discussed below:
Power culture: According to this type of culture higher authorities have power along
with responsibilities to develop best task for their employees to achievement of targeted goals
within the short period of time. In context of 4 Com Plc it is best communication firm that
develops better ways to interact with people. For example: If supply chain of marketing
department wants to increase large number of phones at marketplace than they are needed to

bring authority from their top management so that they can continue their working process. Thus,
power culture plays crucial role within working place of any business or organization.
Task culture: This type of culture is based on so many terms and condition created by
firms in order to get so many alternatives for every issue at workplace. Along with this firms are
able to get their desired results and achieve positive outcomes in an effective manner. In regards
with 4 Com Plc, with the help of following this culture they are able to gain accurate information
and then they also make effective alternatives for reducing any type of error from firm. For
example: 4 Com Plc is working as SME’s in UK by having average number of employees. Thus,
the task of this organizations is to recruit high skilled employees who can easily understand
terms and policies or able to meet future goals in a easiest way (Lyskova, 2019).
Person culture: This is based on employees as they commonly feel good while they
work at firm. It is essential for companies to offer necessary tools and methods for their
employees so that they can get positive working environment and able to work happily. Within
the 4 Com Plc employees are experienced as they know how to overcome difficulties from
workplace. It makes great goodwill of firm so that they can achieve competitive advantages in a
perfect mode.
Role culture: According to this type of culture employees of firm plays different task in
order to achieve fixed goals within short time of span. Along with this, employees have
responsibility to take any difficult task for achievement of predetermined goals on time. For
example: If 4 Com Plc gives ample number of task to its employees so that they expected from
them to attain desired results and create positivity at workplace.
Importance of cultural variation awareness –
It is necessary for every to understand different types of cultural differences by which
they can make best strategies to achieve possible outcomes at workplace (Johnson and
Umphress, 2019). According to current scenario, firms are trying to make several policies or
rules as per the culture. Some of the dimensions of Hofstede’s model for better understanding of
culture, those are as follows:
