Organisational Behaviour: An Unconventional Framework to Solve Problems

This presentation discusses the nature and activities of employees in an organization and how it affects the work skills of managers and employees. It identifies poor management and leadership as a major problem and suggests an unconventional approach to solve it. The unconventional approach includes performance-based assessment and authentic assessment to evaluate the employees' personal skills and capabilities to perform tasks related to real-life situations. INTRODUCTION
Organizational behaviour refers to the human behaviour of an individual within a company and helps
in achieving the relationship through interaction.
 It helps to understand the nature and activities of employees at workplace and also improves the
work skills of managers and employees in the organisation.
Broken Hill Propriety Company Limited (BHP)is the world's largest mining company and dealer in
silver, lead and mine at Broken Hills. Australia.

DETERMINE OPERATION MISTAKES AND
PROCEDURE
 Poor management and leadership are a major problem identified in the BHP Company
Limited because it lacks proper training to the managers and employees as they are unaware
about the nature of the jobs and goals which resulted in low morale in the employees.
 In context of the issue raised that the major cause for poor management is lack of
communication of employees with the managers as they are not able to convey their part in
effective manner and lack of proper training affects the performance of employees as they are
unable to understand the nature of their job and fail to meet their deadlines on time resulting
on loss of work and decreasing the productivity of the company.

UNCONVENTIONAL FRAMEWORK TO
SOLVE PROBLEM OF ORGANIZATION
 Conventional approach refers to the traditional approaches in which lectures are given
to the learner.
 The conventional approaches consist of behaviour or opinion of the individual on any
particular situation. It is not genetic approaches.
 It leads to the critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. It will be
used from the decades in the businesses and got out dated in the modern era.
 Traditional approaches increase the awareness among others.

 However, this teaching technique can be used in constructive industry likewise the
manager can use these methods to collect the information and guide the employees
about the of machinery.
 This will help the employees in learning the new skills that will contribute in using the
resources more productively.
 That will result in improving the business performance in the competitive business
environment.

 Whereas, Unconventional approach refers to the non-traditional approach in which
there will be various approaches are available which company can used in order to
solve the issues.
 In traditional approach the knowledge and the skills are delivered through the
compulsory internship program.
 It helps in improving the skills along with theoretical knowledges the learner will get
experienced as well. In this approach a learner will get inspire and motivated by the
surrounding as well as leaders and mentors.

 Performance based assessment refers to the assessment which identify the ability of the
employees to utilize the skills and knowledge a trainees gain from the unit of the study.
 In the performance-based assessment consist of identification of critical thinking and
problem-solving ability of the employees.
 In this process leader or mentors give tasks to the employees in order to analysis the
performance.
 After the identification of the goal standard course of the study will be given to the
workers.

 Authentic assessment evaluates the employees’ personal skills and capabilities to perform
task related to real life situations and it also promotes in the development of the thinking
skills of an employee.
 The purpose of this assessment is to engage employees in the discussions related to the
issues in order to increase their knowledge in particular field which is conducted by the
managers of the organization.
 To evaluate the performance of the employees, mangers give task which is related to real
life situations, presentations, organize group discussions and debates in the organization.

 From the above report it has been concluded that the management of the company is
responsible for its success.
 In a firm there are various factors which leads to poor management, it can be lack of
communication among the members, improper directions etc.
 To solve the problems efforts are made to reduce the communication gap and organize
training programs to motive employees to work.
