Organizational behavior is a study about the employee and people in corporate world.
This process will help to determine the people behavior and how they interact with other
employee. This process applied in the business organization. This report will describe the culture
of organization and political or power of manage in the company. This assignment will describe
the importance of employee in organization and Further, this report will describe the different
concept and theory which helps for managing the business activities. There are various barriers
generated at the time of business development so that approaches and theories will help for
removing the obstacle in the organization. This report will also analyze the culture, politics and
power of BBC organization which influence the team performance and individual.

BBC is a British broadcast company and this organization will information related to the news
and sports etc. It is a leading brand which is active in all over the world. At early age, this
organization will face many problems regarding the working environment and employee
behavior. In this way, it affects the business operations and functions. It is organization to
maintain their facility and services in proper manner. There are some problems faced by staff
member and employee. Employee of BBC complaint against their working culture, management
system and communication process (Organizational behavior, 2018). In April 2000, the director
of BBC has been decided to track all the records and visionary leadership in different scale. They
also planning an effective strategy for providing the best services and culture to their employee
(Smith and et.al., 2017).
Handy topology uses in the organization and also identify the past, present culture
Handy topology is a concept which helps for leading the BBC organizational culture and
this theory also define the different culture such as power, task, person and role.
Power Culture provide the power for few individuals and manager those influence and
motivate the culture of organization. Rules and regulation is under the power culture of BBC.

Power culture is basically strong culture which is help for managing their business process and
operations in proper manner.
Role culture is basically based on rules and they also control everyone in the BBC.
Manager has more responsibilities for maintain the organizational structure and their specific
roles. Role cultures are built on detailed company structures and their functionality.

problem and issues or project progress. Tasks culture effective for development of BBC and also
increase their profitability and productivity.
Political culture is importance for organization to manage the entire business process in
effective manner. In past year BBC faces many challenges regarding the politics because
employees cannot be connected with other staff member. In this way, it creates relationship gap
between each other which impact on entire business process. The politics level of organization is
very high because negative people affect the business culture and working environment.

This is the most common part of power which is divided into different forms of powers such as
Coercive power affecting the physical and it is ultimate power of governments. In BBC
organization, this power is force to the employee to do something against the company. This
power is basically used the physical threats against BBC. In earlier. BBC is not managed the
business operations and functions in proper manner. They directly impact on the physical part of
company. Nowadays, Manager handle each and every things in effective manner.
BBC organization provide the rewards to their best employee and someone is deserved
the reward. Many employee working for money because it is required for conducts their life in
effective manner. Reward power is ability to provide the people what they want and to do some
things for company. At present days, BBC provides the best rewards for their employee
according to their performance and their skills.
Legitimate power is an essential for BBC to set up specific rules and regulation for
company. In British broadcast company, manager and leaders all have legitimate power. This is

useful for managing the business operations and functions in proper manner. Nowadays, BBC
applied legitimate power for managing their business operations effectively and efficiently.
Informational power providing the information about the person and thinking in different
ways. At present, BBC organization providing the details regarding the business such as news,
sports and movies etc. this organization is basically used the important information which
provided by news channel and broadcasting to the people.
Power and politics are major components for business and they planning important role
in the organizations. Manager has capabilities to understand the need and requirement of
business. They always interact with other employee and then taking important decision after
discussion. In BBC Company, power impact depend upon staff member whether employee uses
negatives and positive power in their workplace (Salamzadeh and Elyasi et.al., 2017). Politics
are directly impact on the business culture and they influence towards the negative power of
employees.
Positive power always encouraging the people towards their goals and achievements
which is beneficial for the BBC. This power will help the employee taking right decision
regarding business development. On the other hand, Negative power is affecting the business
operations and function when the managers and leaders are support to their employee. In this
way, they affecting the entire culture and build communication among them.
Positive politics plays important role for influence the employee to navigate towards their
goals and objectives. In this way, BBC is establishing clear policies. It makes sure that the
employee easily finding the answer what they want. In this way, BBC is expanding their
business all over the world. This is the best way to increase the productivity and profitability in
marketplace (Smith, 2017).

goals and objectives. It is external and internal factors that stimulate energy and desire in staff
member towards their interest and commitment.

BBC organization must be focus on each and every employee about there working
conditions. They are focus on internal and external benefit of employees to manage task as per
the given time. In this context, many management theories play a most important role for
increase the efficiency level of employees.
The content theories mainly imply that individuals are unique and may have unique
sources of motivation. These hypotheses recommend that when individuals don't get what they
trust they require, they endeavor to fulfill these necessities. The process theories mainly imply
BBC organization that individual choices are based on preferences, reward factors and sense of
accomplishment. Therefore, the managers should understand the process of motivation (Smith
and Haslam, 2017). The main assumption underlying Skinner’s work is that it is the
consequences (referred to as operant; that’s why the term operant conditioning) that affect
behavior.
Content theory (Abraham Maslow theory) is based on motivation to the employee towards their
goals and achievements. This theory is also known as Human motivational which help for
determine the need and requirement of humans and employee in BBC organization.
This company provides the different demand and requirement that categories such as social need,
self actualization need, social need and safety need etc.
These are important requirement of employee in organization that's why BBC always provide all
the facilities and services to their staff members. According to Maslow's theory, It can be
understand the need and requirement at lower level. BBC is trying to provide services and satisfy
the need of employee. For building the team, it makes sure that lower level requirement met.
Process theory(Adam equity theory) is complex and sophisticated model. This theory will help
for condition alone that doesn't determine the motivational. It also providing one person a
promotions and it can be demotivating when pay rises. In BBC, employee maintain the equity
between the input and they also bring the job and their outcomes. It is a motivational theory and
also motivate to their employee towards their goals and objectives. There are different types of
inputs includes hard work, flexibility, time, effort, tolerance, commitment and ability.
As per the above, both the theory are most important to solve any issue related to
employees performance and manage task on time. On the other hand, individual and team

effectiveness are most important part for organization goal, so motivation theory of employees
are help to manage task and increase the level of effectiveness.
Improve the motivational level of BBC
There are some important way to improve the motivational theories:
Make Expectation clear- Staff member with objective and goals is naturally aimless because it
providing the clear vision and mission towards their goals. It makes sure that the measurable
standards evaluate the performance. According to motivational theory, it supports the concept of
employee and their action towards the objectives. BBC organization always set up their own
desired goals for increasing their productivity and profitability.

feedback towards the customer and viewers. Lack of trust directly impact on the business process
because it damages the entire structure and functionality of organization. BBC requires building
trust towards their employee. They also providing the best services to their employee. This is
major barrier in the effective performance of BBC. It is directly impact on their business process.
