INTRODUCTION Organizational behaviour is a study which provides information about the type ofbehaviour of employees while working in organizational setting. With an aim to carry out thegiven report, British Gas and edf, two famous energy firms of UK are selected. TASK 1 Covered in PPTTASK 2 2.1Effectiveness of the different leadership style is compared which British Gas and edf canuse while managing their employees. Opportunists are the individuals who work for the sake oftheir own benefit (Opportunist, 2015). These people will not give any importance to the needsand demands of other individuals. However, transformational is other type of leadership stylewhich considers the demands of workers and it also involves them in the decision makingprocess of firm. In addition to this, achievers are the leaders who provide immense support toemployees and give them guidance in the circumstances when they face difficulty. In addition tothis, strategists are the type of leaders which always encourage new and innovative ideas whichare being given by its followers. This type of leader do not hesitate in taking risk. However,diplomat leader is just opposite to the strategist leader. This leader always tries for avoiding therisk which is being occurred within the organization (Žydžiūnaitė and Lepaitė, 2011). Overall, itcan be said that by adopting any of the given leadership style, British Gas and edf can carry outits organizational activitoes in an effective manner. 2.2Organizational theory helps in underpinning the practice of management in British Gas.For example, with the help of five different management functions, the whole work of cited firmcan be organized in a systematic way. These functions involve planning, organizing, staffing,directing and controlling etc (Eid and et.al., 2012). In the similar way, with the help of differentmanagerial roles, work from the employees can be carried out by cited firm manager smoothly.For instance, with the help of informational role, all the essential information about the enterprisecan be distributed to the respective employees. Thus, through this way, goals and objectives ofcorporation can be met. 1
