ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR ANALYSIS1
Analysis of vast diversity of employee attitudes in areas of job satisfaction, organizational
commitment and employee engagement between different cultures in Manufactured
Landscapes
The movie “Manufactured Landscapes” is mainly based on the cultural differences that
are present in the Zhejiang and Fujian provinces of China and a place in Bangladesh where the
ships are taken. The work process that has been implemented in the two countries is considered
to be quite different and this is considered to be a major factor that is chosen for the purpose of
analyzing the cultural differences1.
The implementation of Geert Hofstede’s five dimensional model will be able to help in
proper analysis of the cultural differences between China and Bangladesh,
Power distance – Bangladesh has gained a score of 80 in case of power distance as the
organizations are hierarchical in nature. China has also scored 80 in the dimension due to the
presence of hierarchies in the firms.
Individualism – The individualism score of Bangladesh and China are 20 and this is able
to depict low levels of individualist behavior in the societies of the two countries.
Masculinity – The masculinity score of Bangladesh is 55 and the score gained by China
is 66. The difference in scores is able to depict the difference that exists between the masculine
natures of the societies of the two countries2.
