Executive Summary
This report focuses on organizational behavior and its impact on the modern workplace.
Organizational behavior is considered as in-depth study of the behavior of human resources
towards the workplace. The underlying aim of organizational behavior is to assess whether or not
the employees are showing positive attitude. Therefore, negative attitude of the employees
towards the innovation and risk can make it difficult for the managers to implement
organizational behavior. Robotics is one of the most emerging trends in recent times which
results in automation in the internal process of a company, which helps to reduce the level of
error and thereby accelerate the productivity of the entire organization.

Introduction:
Organizational behavior (OB) is defined as the study about the mode, through which
people in an organization interact with each other (Huczynski, Buchanan and Huczynski 2013).
Pinder (2014) commented that the fundamental aim of OB is to assess the behavior of the
employees towards workplace. According to the study of Wilson (2017) organizational
behaviour is the mode of applying scientific approach in order to align the employees with that
of the predetermined goals and objectives. Present paper intends to make in-depth discussion
regarding organizational behavior and its impact on the modern workplace. The significance of
organizational behavior on mitigating the challenging situation in the workplace will also be
discussed in the paper. Furthermore, this report will also shade light on the impact of both
automation and robotics on workplace hazards. Theoretical framework of organizational
behavior will also be discussed.
Explaining the organizational behavior and its impact on contemporary
workplace:
In another study Wilson (2018) described that organizational behavior is nothing but the
study of behavior of human in the context of an organization which is extremely significant in
running the internal functionality of a business with utmost efficiency. This is basically, the
study of interface in between the human resources and workplace. According to Luthans et al.
(2015) in-depth study of OB supports in designing the organizational structure in such a manner
which can help to improve the productivity of the entire workplace. According to Pettinger
(2013), one of the major aspects of OB is that it helps in addressing the issues like motivation

among the employees, team building and creating healthy and flexible working environment and
allowing the staffs to adapt with rapidly changing working environment.
As the contemporary business environment is changing in a rapid manner, it is required
from the employees to be more productive. There lies the significance of OB that supports in
exploring the factors that can generate motivation among the staffs. Organizational behavior
plays a significant role in modifying the value and perception of employees towards work which
is the key of accelerating their volatile. Wagner and Hollenbeck (2014) highlighted that the
intensity of competition in the market is acting as a driving force behind the companies to
improve their performance in order to cope up with the market. Organizational behavior can
have a firm impact on creating a strong organizational culture which is very much needed in
terms of influencing the employees to work in accordance with the predetermined goals and
objectives (Lawrence and Lee 2013).
Issues of organizational behavior:
There are certain challenges, which are being faced by the managers of modern
workplace for executing organizational behavior. Lack of positive attitude of employees towards
innovation and risk is one of the emerging issues of OB. Sometimes, the individuals as well as a
certain group of employees show reluctant attitude towards adapting innovation in the process as
they think it utterly challenging (Greenberg 2014). Such attitude is nothing but the outcome of
their previous experience. In the context of governance, the attitude of employees towards
innovation and risk is highly significant as it paves the way for the managers to initiate change in
the organization (Bolman and Deal 2017). Therefore, negative attitude and perception among the
employees restrict the management to create positive culture, which is utterly beneficial for
promoting desired growth of business (Carpenter et al. 2014).

Impact of robotics on organizational behavior:
Speed in the business process plays a significant role in coping up with extremely volatile
business environment (Trianni et al. 2014). There lies the reason, for which most of the
organizations have implemented robotics in order to integrate automation in the business process
which is very much needed in terms of promoting speed in their internal process. UiPath is one
of the famous UK based startups to implement robotics to automate their business process. The
company claims that almost 99% of their tasks have been automated through robotics. One of the
greatest advantages, enjoyed by UiPath is that robotics has amplified their invoice processing
which is the key of attaining financial stability. UiPath works in multiple industries such as
healthcare, finance, insurance along with manufacturing (Uipath.com. 2018).
Robotics is supporting them to prevent any kind of illegal activity such as bank fraud
which is quite common in the insurance industry. Vendor management mechanism of the
company is also being processed through robotics which is helping them to reduce any kind of
internal error and thereby generating positive behavior among the staffs to perform their duty
with utmost proficiency (Luo 2015).
Theoretical framework of organizational behavior:
Organizational behavior is a complicated phenomenon which must be assessed through
certain theoretical framework. Job Fit theory is one of the emerging theoretical framework of OB
which shows that the adaptability of the staffs towards their job is extremely significant for
generating positive behavior among them (Lu et al. 2014). The more the employees can adapt
the working process, the more they feel motivated to work efficiently (Clegg, Kornberger and
Pitsis 2015). This theory highlights that the employees in an organization have different
personality trait (Lawrence and Lee 2013). It is imperative for the companies to understand the

trait along with the skills and competencies among the employees and assign the task
accordingly for the sake of generating motivation among them (Amador, Okamoto and Zivan
2014). This will lower the rate of job turn over along with absenteeism.
Pinder (2014) showed that as robotics is a new process which can engender reluctant
attitude among the staffs to cope up with the new process. At the same time from the study of
Alfes et al. (2013), it is observed that the lack of knowledge on the automation process can also
cause such negative behavior among the staffs. Elnaga and Imran (2013) in their study rightfully
commented that proper training must be provided to them to amplify their knowledge related to
automation process and thereby generate positive behavior towards the new process.
Conclusion:
Based on the discussion, it can be conclude by saying that organizational behavior is a
major factor which deals with believe and perception of the employees towards the workplace.
Therefore negative behavior among human resources poses challenges to improve the
organizational productivity. Negative attitude among the employees towards automation and risk
is one of the major challenges towards promoting effective organizational behavior. Robotics is a
leading trend of contemporary times which intends to automate the business process and thereby
attain sustainable growth of business. This is highly required to handle the unpredictable
business environment.
