Organizational behavior“Despite all the changes in the business environment, is the OrganizationMan relevant in today’s organizations?” DiscussOrganizational behavior refers to the study of organization including the groups and individualsinvolved in day to day activities. Basically it is related to the study of human behavior within theorganization and the interface between the human behavior and the organization. The mainmotive behind the study of organizational behavior is to make the organization more efficientand also to achieve the goals in an effective manner. There are some factors or forces that affectan organization and we can classify them into four areas-People: People are the essential part of the organization. Everything depends on theworking pattern of the employees. If the employees or people are efficient enough thenthe goals and objectives can be achieved easily (Miner, 2015).Technology: The organization should take into consideration updated technology so thatwork can be finished in effective way. The technology also plays an important role in theconducting day to day operations of the business.Structure: The structure of the organization should be designed in proper way. If thestructure of the organization if efficient enough then the organization can easily achieveits goals and objectives.Environment: There should be friendly environment in the organization so thatemployees can feel comfortable to work in effective manner. Every employee like theorganization where the environment is good enough to conduct the day to day operations(Armstrong and Taylor, 2014).There should be proper management of all these forces for the goal accomplishment and thegrowth of the organization. There are many contemporary motivational theories that are used byorganization to attract and retain employee’s like-1.Self- determination theory- It is related to the behavior of the people when they are not incontrol. This theory says that employees should never lose the control even when theyface any difficult situation. 2.Goal- Setting Theory- Goal setting theory says that the tasks given to the employeesshould be challenging enough for them so it can improve the performance of the

There is an assumption of this theory that employees are committed to thegoals of the organization and they will contribute in it effectively.3.Self-efficacy theory- This theory is known as social learning theory. It describes thethoughts of the employees regarding any particular task or work allotted to them. Ifemployees of an organization have a high efficacy then they will be more confident andthat can increase the chances of success of the organization.4.Equity theory- In this theory, employees calculates the inputs and the outputs forthemselves and then compares it to any other person in the organization (Betsch andHaberstroh, 2014).There are different types of employees in the organization and they behave in a different way.Different types of behavior are-1.Cognitive- People who behaves in a cognitive way are always eager to represent theirthoughts, beliefs, knowledge and ideas about something. They are expressive in nature.2.Affective- Affective behavior refers to the feeling that is brought outside relating tosomething, like hate, love, fear etc.3.Conative- It is also known as the behavioral component and it focuses on people whobehave in a different way for different things. Their behavior varies from situation tosituation (Giacalone and Rosenfeld, 2013).There is a lot of importance of evidence management. This term has come in existence in the1990s for medicine background but now its principle has applied to education, social work,management etc. Evidence management describes that all the management decisions should betaken according to critical thinking and the best evidence available. There can be any type ofevidence like research, business information, reports, information etc. Evidence basedapproaches can be applied to interpret management and organizational behavior. It helps inmaking better management decisions as it involves critical thinking and these decisions can beapplied in the organization in an effective way as it considers best evidence available (Pinder,2014).Communication is an important part of any organization and there should be proper interpersonaland personal skills adopted by the employees. It includes-
