Aspects of organizational behavior that are affected by emotions and moods
Decision making is a major aspect of organizational behavior that is affected by the
emotions and moods of employees. Positive emotions can help the decision makers to make the
sound decisions that are effective for the organizations. The negative emotions on the other hand
can lead to the development of wrong decisions. Creativity is another major aspect of
organizational behavior that is influenced by emotions and moods of the individuals. The
researches have been able to depict that individuals who are in good mood and have positive
emotions tend to more creative in comparison to those who have negative emotions (Devece,
Palacios-Marqués and Alguacil 2016).
Positive emotions and good mood can also enhance the levels of motivation of the
employees who are a part of the modern organizations. The groups that have positive mood can
provide better results for the same tasks in comparison to those who have a negative mood.
Leadership is also influenced in a huge manner by the emotions that people have and their
moods at a certain point of time. The positive leaders are able to develop greater levels of
optimism towards different situations in comparison to leaders who have negative emotions and
moods. The leaders can also prove to be more effective if they are able to portray positive
emotions and can also share it with the employees. Emotional connect is also considered to be
quite critical for the proper development of proper leadership and effective relationships with the
employees as well (George and Dane 2016).
Customer service is another major aspect that is influenced by the emotions and moods
of the individuals in different organizations. The levels and quality of customer service can have
an impact on the emotion levels and moods of the individuals in the modern and competitive
business environment. Emotional contagion is considered to be a major factor in terms of the
