Introduction
ModMeters is a manufacturing organization that mostly produces metering
components for their customers all around the world. There has been a steady growth in the
business and the expertise of the organization over manufacturing metering devices has been
extremely impacting over the last century on the customers throughout the globe (McKeen &
Smith, 2015). There have been two ideas that have been proposed at the meeting for the
executives; one is to globally expand the organization and its meter assembly plants in Asia
and Eastern Europe and the other is to implement IT infrastructure into the organization.
Where the first one was easier to implement, the other strategy was rather difficult because of
the prevailing systems in the organization and issues in funding. Now, following would be
the development of the IT planning process for ModMeters so that the business demands can
be met.
Brief of the Case Study
The organization ModMeters is regarded as one of the most popular organizations in
the manufacturing of Metering components which has customers all around the world.
ModMeters also wants to implement it strategic plan within the organisation but there has
been several challenges. The two strategies that the CEO has proposed to the CIO of the
organisation seems to be one of the most important decisions that the organisation should
take but it also has several challenges for implementation including the inclusion of IT
strategy (McKeen & Smith, 2015). This is because there are several areas that the
organisation believes to invest money on but when it comes to extending system the company
does not invest much money. This is a problem and the organisation seems to be falling
behind being limited in implementation of Information Technology Services to the company.
