Step 1
Entry into the community is one of the most vital parts where the social worker has to use
his knowledge and his resources in order to understand the issues being faced by the people of
the community. The marginalized people are denied of all the social rights and educational
rights. Thus it is essential for understanding their problem by mingling with them. I have learned
that the relationship building or the rapport building is like the groundwork or the base building
work. Thus in order to render a proper community building system they have to visit the places
where the marginalized people are living and the actual hardships that they are facing.

suggested that in order to contribute in the process of building the organization or the community
the social organizer has to be one among the members of that community and then see the
problems from their viewpoint.
This will be very helpful for the people living in that community. The awakening stage as
suggested by The Philippine Business for Social Progress (PSBP, 1991) is evident of the fact that
community building is possible in the right way when the social worker tries to mingle among
those people (Kinderman 2015). There can be different methods used for this purpose like
playing with the community people, work with them.
