INTRODUCTION
In present scenario, health and social care sector is growing rapidly because now every
one have some diseases because of having wrong foods and habits and people want to remain fit
and healthy so that's why they are taking services from healthcare organisations. For satisfying
the needs of their patients, professionals should have proper equipments so that they can provide
effective and efficient services to them and can assist in remaining fit (World Health
Organization, 2012). Today time, people' thinking is changing regarding their health, now they
are more health conscious. For fulfilling the needs of customers, technology plays an important
role so service provider should adopt latest technology. This present report is based on health and
social care sector that are developing continuously because of changing perception of
individuals. This project will state about various concept of health, disability and illness and
focus on the social or culture need of services users. It also enlightens about the impact of past
and present legislation, social policies etc. It also analyses the care needs of individuals and will
also describe about various approaches and interventions that are available to support individuals
with specific needs.
TASK 1
1.1 Concept of health, disability and illness and behaviour
Every person want to remain healthy and fit so that they can live their normal life. If an
individual will not feel well then he will not be able to work effectively and efficiently.
ï‚· Healthy person will be that person who will not have any type of diseases and is happy
in his life with socially, mentally and physically. In other terms, it can be said that an
individual will be treated healthy when he will be fit physically, mentally and socially.
ï‚· Disabilities- In this, people is not able to live their normal life in effective and efficient
manner. It can be of two types, one is permanent disability in which individual can not
live their normal life in his whole living journey while second one is temporary disability
in which person's condition can be improved after period of some time. In this, person
has some physical impairment which can be removed after getting treatment (Mattocks
and et. al., 2014). For example- Mr. Peter who has Cerebral Palsy and mental illness
which will be known as disability.

ï‚· Illness- An illness person becomes an dependent person on his or her family. A person
has to face illness for a short period of time but in that period of time he or she is not be
able to do anything because he feels weakness in his body. In other terms, it can be say
that it is a temporary defect in which individual will not get happiness mentally or
physically. In simple terms, it can be said that when an individual will have illness then
he will not be able to live his normal life for short period of time. For example- in given
scenario, Mr. Peter has some mental illness which is a temporary effect, will be known
as illness.
ï‚· Behaviour- Every person have different nature and if person's behaviour is changing
then it is assumed that he is feeling mentally or physically sickness. Every person has
different kinds of behaviours. In case of any illness or sickness, individual becomes
irritated and weak so in this situation, health care provider should have idea or
knowledge for dealing with these kind of person.
For dealing with these problems, a professional should have proper knowledge and
equipments so that people can get well soon. Mr. Peter who has mental illness that will be
included in the illness because it is a temporary defect or condition of him and cerebral palsy will
be included temporary disabilities (Falk, 2016).
1.2 Changing perception of people about specific needs
Perception can be defined as a behaviour or people by which they translate sensory
impressions into coherent unified view of the world around them. It also consists of behaviour of
individual how they respond to a particular situation as well as to the environment.
It is right to be said that at current time, individuals' mind are changing in regarding to
their health. In ancient time, no one did not focus on their health and not have any knowledge
how can be fit and healthy. But now a days, everyone are conscious about their physic because
they have more work load or pressure so for relieving form this, they are taking help from
healthcare professionals.
In ancient time, people did not care of their health because they had not any kind of
information like how to take care of themselves etc. But at present time, individuals are
becoming more conscious towards their fitness because of having bad habits or foods. So it can
be said that people' perception is changing continuously. Now a day, they are taking care of
themselves more.

In earliest time, if anyone gets ill then they take home-made remedy for their
improvement in health but in present scenario, if people do not feel well then they take help of
healthcare professionals. At present, there are less number of service provider as comparison to
patient so now doctors are moving towards the specialist communities who aid in providing
better quality of services according to their requirements. For identifying the needs or wants of
patients, service provider should use Maslow's need hierarchy by which it can know about the
needs or wants of users and will also assist in providing better services to them (Holland-Bartels
and Pierce, 2011).
From a given case study, it can be cleared that how people are becoming more conscious
towards their fitness. Mr. Peter who is facing cerebral palsy and mental illness, is taking services
from health professionals so that their condition can be improved. So here it can be seen that how
perception is changing because he is taking services from professionals rather than taking

From the given case study, it can seen that how perception of people is changing towards
their health. Mr. Peter who is facing many types of diseases, is taking treatment from the
specialist of healthcare and is doing various other things like swimming etc. for maintaining fit

protect the rights of patient and to provide best services to them at reasonable cost. These legal
laws have to follow by every healthcare organisations. There are various legislations which are
follows-

in their development process. such as in given case, Mr. JC is facing this critical situation
because he became very aggressive and using abusive language to the staff members and was not
cooperating with other members. This problems can be faced by an individual because of having
