Impact of Pandemic on Business Performance of UK Lodging Industry: A Study on Airbnb

This research project aims to identify the impact of pandemic situation on business performance of the UK Lodging industry, with a focus on Airbnb. The project examines the challenges faced by the industry, determines the impact of pandemic situation on business performance of Airbnb, and examines the ways adopted by Airbnb for overcoming the impact of pandemic situation on their business performance.

INTRODUCTION
Background of the project
COVID 19 has created a great influence on the business and lives of people.
The sales of business are declining due to social distancing, travel restrictions
and lock-down. These restrictions creates a great impact on the popple and
businesses. The pandemic has also forced many businesses to close their
activities as they were facing severe loss.

Research Rationale with justification
The rationale behind doing this project is to identify the impact of
pandemic situation on business performance of the UK Lodging industry. This
project provides a detailed knowledge about the challenges faced by lodging
industry during the tough time of pandemic and also depicts about the ways
which UK lodging industry can adopt in order to overcame the impact of
pandemic situation on their business performance (Manuel and Herron, 2020).

• As per the perception of Charoensukmongkol (2021), there are various challenges which are faced
by UK lodging industry during the situation of pandemic.
• As per the opinion of Sharma and et. al., (2020), pandemic situation has created a great impact on
the business performance as it reduce the profitability and occupancy rate of UK Lodging industry.
• As per the viewpoint of Li and et. al., (2021), there are various ways which can be adopted by the
company for overcoming the impact of pandemic situation on their business performance.
