INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan can be describe as the process of creating action plan that is
based on the awareness, values, reflection, goal setting as well as planning for personal
development with relation to career growth (Shaheen and Hameed, 2020). It is significant for
individual to prepare personal development plan in order to accomplish desired personal and
professional goals. This report will includes self SWOT analysis. Setting goals for long term and
short term basis. Apart from this personal objectives are have set.
MAIN BODY
Stage 1 - SWOT analysis
This is consider as effective tool or approach in order to analyse individual strength and
weakness. It is significant way through which person will be able to analyse their skills which
assist in carry out task effective as well as area that needs to be improved.
Strength – I have analysed that there are different skills and capabilities that are effective
for me in order to successfully carry out required set of practices. I have determined that I
have strong problems solving and decision making skills that helps me in conducting
required set of practices in successful and effective way. For example I am able to take
quick decision related to business aspects. In the situation of business conflicts I am able
to successfully resolve issues and problem by providing correct direction and guidance to
deal with the issues (Minhas and et.al., 2020). I am creative person as well as conduct
business practices in better or creative manner.
Weakness – There are some skills which I needs to develop as lacking of these lead to
have negative impact on my potential and capabilities. I have analysed that due to
weakness I am not able to attain desired objectives. I have determined that my major
weakness is lack of communication and time management potential. Due to lack of
communication skills I am not able to convey message and ideas to others in significant
manner. lack of time management skills lead to have negative impact on my performance

and potential. For example because of ineffective communication skills I am not able to
develop better relationship with customers.
Opportunities – I have determined that there are various opportunities in market area
that will assist me in conducting business practices in effective manner as well as
attaining desired goals. I have strong problems solving skills and creative trait that assist
in providing creative and effective solutions to business problems. Through this I will be
able to develop better relationship with others.
Threats – There are some threats in external market area that can have affect over my
performance and potential (Bintani, 2020). High economic crises and lack of
opportunities in market area will have significant affect over my potential. For example,
there is less opportunities in market area due to which I will not be able to find better
opportunities for my personal or professional growth and development.
Stage 2 – Setting goals
Setting goals is the second stage after analysing individual strength and weakness. It is
crucial for a person to set effective goals in order to attain desired goals and objectives. This is
one of the crucial aspect of personal and professional development plan. It is important for
individual to set SMART objective that is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time
bound.
What is a SMART technique
The SMART techniques stand for specific, measurable, achievable realistic and timely
techniques that are effective in order to attain desired goal and objective. This type of techniques
is very clear with specific criteria which will measure individual progress for accomplishment of
goals and objective (Lancer and Eatough, 2020). This is significant techniques in order to
incorporates to different criteria which helps in focusing your efforts as well as enhance the
chances of attaining goals. SMART techniques are important for individual in order to set goals
as it will lead to success as well as help in carry out required set of activities. It is crucial for
individual to consider SMART techniques with the motive of performing required activities in
more significant and effective manner. This will assist in providing proper direction and
guidance to individual for carry out required set of task in specific manner.

crucial for individual to set proper and specific goals in order to perform required set of practices
in effective and significant manner. Goals can be define as the end towards which efforts is
directed by individual in order to accomplish desired objective. This is consider as the first and
most basic step for the planning of future and play fundamental roles for skills and capability
development. By developing specific and effective goals individual will be able to determine the
path that will lead to accomplishment and attaining goals.

specifically in order to motivate and guide a perform to carry out practices in particular and

What do I want to learn?
I have analysed that I want to learn effective communication as well as time management
capabilities. These are effective and crucial skills that needs to be with in an individual with the
motive of conducting required set of practices in effective and significant manner. I want to learn
communication skills in order to convey message and ideas to others in more effective and
accurate manner. I have analysed that time management skills is very crucial for individual in
order to complete required set of task and activities in right time. This will assist me in
enhancing my overall potential and capability to conduct business practices in significant and
effective manner.
How do I want to do?
In order to enhance my skills and increase my learning practices I want to join short term course.
This is very effective and accurate way for improving and enhancing my overall capability and
potential to carry out required set of practices in effective manner (Sichula, 2020). I want to
improve my understanding and knowledge about different aspects of communication and time
management so that I can carry out business practices in very accurate and appropriate way.
How will I measure success?
I will measure success of development of new skills and capabilities through
accomplishment of desired goals and objective. I will be able to measure the success of my

communication skills when I will be capable of conveying my messages and ideas to other in
more significant and effective manner. Development of time management skill can be measured
when I will be able to conduct required set of practices and task in right time. This will assist me
in measuring my success for overall growth and development.
Stage 3 – Personal Objectives
Personal objectives is consider as the last stage of personal and professional development.
In this individual have to set different objective on the basis of short, medium and long term. It is
significant for individual to set effective objectives as it will assist in provide accurate guidance
and direction to individual.
Short term objectives
Short term objectives can be describe as the goals of individual that is set for shorter time
frame. It is crucial for individual to determine different short term objectives in order to carry out
required set of practices in correct or accurate manner (Zahm, 2020). This type of goals needs to
be accomplished with in six or lesser months of time duration. Different short term objectives are

Medium term objectives
This type of objective are generally those objectives that is related to the period of 18 months
to three years. Medium term objectives are longer as compare to short terms goals and lesser
than long term goals. Medium term objectives are –
To buy a house.
To start a business.
To pay off student loans.
To go on a dream trip.
Long term objectives
Long term objectives are of three or more years. This type of objectives majorly includes
specific improvement in individual. It is crucial for a person to develop long term objective and
contribute small efforts on daily basis in order to accomplish desired objective.
To enhance communication skills and capability.
