Oncontrary, divisional structure are generally used in large organizations that have separatesmall firms within the umbrella (Islam, Jasimuddin and Hasan, 2015). It can be broken downinto product, market as well as geographic structure. In this, the needs of the firm can be meteasily. However, it is quite costly because of its size and scope. Finally, Matrix structure is ahybrid of functional and divisional and includes the best of both separate structures. This typeof structure can create power struggle, as most of the areas will have dual management. On the other side, organizational culture is nothing but a cultural behaviour of thepeople that includes their belief, interest and value which are being shared. The culture of thefirm motivates their interaction with each other and with Tesco. Culture are of three type’s1

power, role and task. In power culture, control is the key and it is managers based approach. In role culture, there is less control and it is employees based approach (Boxall and Purcell,2011). In task culture, there is balance between control and efficacy and it is a team basedapproach. Tesco is employing large number of staff and thus, they follow hierarchical orfunctional structure. At the store level as well, they have many layers of management. However, there are some stores that follows completely different structure. With structure, the firm was able to find more efficient ways of carrying out the task. Tesco also has afriendly and supportive organizational culture. Further, the control system and measurementsare under the review of the management so as to monitor the effectiveness of decisions of theemployees and managers (Kinicki and Williams, 2008). Because of such culture andstructure, the employees are quite motivated to perform better and achieves the objectives ofTesco successfully.
