Concept of personal and professional development
A PDP help individual to set career goals and objectives and also provide framework
to attain it. Besides that, it is useful in improving required skills, knowledge and
experience in individual for job role or profession. With that it is easy to continuous
improvement in that. The main concept of PDP is to develop future skills. also, what
work out what you want to achieve and how to achieve it.
Discuss value of short term goals and give 3 examples
These are goals which are stepping stones in attaining long term goals. Here, long
goals are broken down into short ones so that it can be easily attained. The time
period of these goals are usually, 1-3 months. They are having a great value is PDP.
It is because it helps individual to move ahead in life and career easily by attaining
these goals. 3 examples are :
Working as per schedule
Buying a new mobile
Maintain discipline
Discuss value of medium term goals and give 3 examples
The medium goals are those which are developed on basis of long term goals. It is
because they are related to both short and long term goals. Moreover, it increases
individual morale and confidence to achieve long term goals. The time frame of goals
are 6 months to 1 year. It makes easy to person to accomplish long goals by
progressing ahead. Thus the examples are

Improve leadership skills
Improve decision making skills

They are the most important goals. it is because these are last goals which a person
wants to accomplish. it allows to work more hard to achieve this. moreover, time
frame of goals are 2-4 years. These goals encourage person to pursue their dreams.
When medium and short are attained then person focus on these goals. therefore, 3

Discuss value of PDP and develop PDP
PDP is highly useful in many things. It allows person to progress in his or
her career, move into further education, actions to learn new skills and
knowledge, etc. in addition PDP is also useful to overcome weakness of
individual in terms of profession. Besides the value are explained as:
 It gives a clarity about goals, skills, knowledge, etc. that is to be
gained.
 It inspires person to improve skills by aligning them with career
goals.
 PDP also shows what action is to be taken to pursue long and
short goals.
 It also helps in evaluating performance with help of self evaluation.

Author- A good source will have complete name of author in that. Also, it will include
details about what author qualification was.
Purpose- this helps to find out that why that source was done. It means what is
reason behind that and whether it is relevant or not.
Reliability: It helps in checking whether that source is reliable and information within
it can be trusted or not. It enables to understand whether information within the
source can be verified from another source or not.
Relevance: It can be checked by analysing target readers of that source and to
understand whether that source is appropriate or not.
