INTRODUCTION
The personal as professional development is referred as the process through which an
individual and organisation engaged in learning process in order to meet all challenges and attain
all defined career goals and objectives. Personal and professional development is associated with
all development needs of an individual and group members. It is related to identification and
evaluation various key personal and professional managerial skills development such as
leadership skills, time management, stress management as well as preparing presentations
through maintaining proper personal and professional development plan. Professional skills
contain different skills such as counselling, coaching and supporting the staff in order to learn
various skills and capabilities according to requirements. These are required managerial,
leadership and team building skills to achieve specific objectives with efficiency (Adnan, 2018).
The main objective of personal and professional development is to manage all learnings as well
as growth throughout the career. It is also known as the continuous professional development.
There are various learning activities such as on the job learning, computer-based learning,
courses and workshops that enhance the skills and knowledge of individual. Professional growth
is about learning new skills and experiences according to the current or future job role on the
other hand personal development is related to develop all those skills that help to achieve all
personal goals. In this report all personal and professional development process and theories are
being covered. Apart from that the issues and challenges raised in the PPD planning as well as
employability skills are discussed in this project report.

Personal and professional development:
According the view point of Allen, (2020) Personal development is referred as the process
of improving individual through various activities such as increasing consciousness, enhancing
employment skills as well as building wealth. Personal and professional development skills is
determined as the process that facilitates the individual as well as organisation to achieve
desirable objectives in defined manner. Development of these skills help the individual to shape
their career and develop various skills and competencies. The aim of personal and professional

learning and developing skills as well as knowledge ensure the continuous work safety in legally

Personal and professional development planning process:
According to the view point of Bossio and Sacco, (2017) Professional personal
development planning is referred as the list of all actional steps in order to achieve all personal as
well as professional goals and objectives. The respective plans help the individual to reach all
career aspirations in specific manner. The professional personal development planning process is
discussed below:
Review performance: In order to prepare effective career planning all past performance to
know about the information such as what things are going well and which area requires
improvement. It provides the knowledge that which area needs to develop to attain all defined
goals and objectives in effective as well as in efficient manner. On the bases of this step the
further steps are decided that enhance various personal as well as professional skills in an
individual.
Identify goals for improvement: After analysing and reviewing the performance, in this step
all goals and objectives are decided on the bases of area that requires improvement. The goals
must be specific and aligned with all other objectives. These goals should be attainable with
defined timeframe based on available resources. Goals should be specific, measurable,
attainable, reasonable and achieved within defined timeframe.
Prepare the list of actional steps to achieve defined goals: In each defined goal various
steps are listed that help to achieve the goals in efficient manner. Effective actionable plan is
necessary to trach on progress. There are various activities that help the individual to improve
their performance level through attending workshops, seminars, work with different mentors and
getting trained.
Define metrics and milestones: When all goals and objectives are defined in clearly then
specific metrics and milestones to measure the performance and progress throughout particular
time period. In this step the performance is measured in order to know that defined goals are
achieved by the individual with specific planning. There are various ways to measure the
progress such as performance results, completion of certain task and skill development.
Identify the support and resources requirement: According to views of Bruni-Bossio and
Delbaere, (2021) In this step of personal and professional development plan all resources and

efficiency. In this phase all plans are implemented in defined manner. There is different type of
resources are required to attain goals such as time, supportive roles like mentors, trainers, team
members and coaches, new software, equipment and regular observation. All these resources
help the individual or group to develop various personal as well as professional skills that
facilitates them to achieve all goals and objectives.
Review and finalise the plan: After analysing all goals and time frame proper plan for the
personal and professional development is being prepared according to requirement of current as
well as future job roles and career goals. Development of personal skills help the individual to
achieve their professional goals and enhance the engagement rate with personal and professional
goals and objectives. In this step all these goals are aligned with future goals that facilitates them
to fulfil the demand of both. Personal and professional development plans help to develop
various skills, knowledge and competencies in order to ensure the success. These plans are
formulated after analysing all aspects in proper manner.
Personal and professional development process in own development:
According to the view point of Dover, Kressler and Lozano, (2020) personal and
professional development planning help an individual, group and organisation to enhance various
skills, knowledge and other competencies that help them to achieve all personal as well as
professional goals and objectives in smooth manner. In order to develop various different skills
and knowledges in my personality the proper personal and professional planning process in
being implemented. PPD plan is a list of actionable steps in achieving my career. In respective
planning first of all self-assessment is done that evaluates all professional interests, knowledge
and skills in my personality as well as it helps in examining the current positioning in order to
attain defined career goals and objectives. The assessment of current skills and interests the are
poses by the individual help to identify the area of improvement in order to attain career goals
and objectives. This step is helpful to analysed the transferable skills that are marketable
personal assets that the employers want in employees such as good communication skill,
leadership and teamwork. It identifies the areas of improvement such as technical skills and
computer programming.
According to the view point of Harper and Maloney, (2017) after self-assessment all goals and
objectives that are decided for the personal as well as professional development should be

specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely. These goals help me to focus towards them
in order to achieve efficiently. Effectively formulates goals help to track them and clearly
defined goals help me to achieve by completing in smaller steps. All goals are arranged
according to their priority level. I have divided my career goals in different categories such as
short term, mid-term and long-term goals that are achievable according to their defined time
period. After categorize all goals effective strategies are formulated by me to accomplish these
goals in most efficient manner within defined time period. These strategies are worked as the
roadmap that direct and instruct me that how to achieve defined goals related to the personal and
professional career. There are different approaches are evaluated by me in order to chose the best
one such as experiential learning that means learning through doing the task in proper manner as
well as exposure education and reflection that is learnt from other by observing them. I have
used the experiential learning strategies to develop my skills to achieve all career goals and
objectives in effective and efficient manner.
According to view point of Herro and Quigley, (2017) when all strategies are formulated
then resources are allocated according to demands and requirements. Resources help me to attain
all personal as well as professional growth. Various workshops, seminars and training enhance
my skills and competencies to accomplish goals is more efficiently. There are various resources
such as continuing education institutions, professional associations, webinars that help to
understand the concepts and enhance knowledge and skills to get the desirable destination in
career. In the personal and professional planning process at last timelines in which the defined
goals are completed. The development plans should be updated according to the requirement and
on regular bases.
Personal and professional development theories:
According to the view point of Horokhivska, (2019) economic as well as business
environment is changing dynamically, so it is required to regularly improved the performance
activities and skills in both personal and professional manner. Personal learning or development
is referred as to improve abilities and skills that are god gifted or learnt from various educational
institutions or by seniors and managers (Wang, 2018). On the other hand, professional
development enhancing the skills that facilitates the individual to perform its job role in efficient
manner. There are various personal and professional development theories that are discussed

Developing through learning: Learning is the method that keeps the individual in touch
with inventions and with all changes as well (Sözgün, 2018). In order to solve various problems
and challenges individual implement different solutions and techniques that enhance the learning
and knowledge about the situation. An individual can learn the thing by doing it in appropriate
manner.
Development through apprenticeship: Development is referred as the process in which
an individual struggle to maintain the quality of knowledge what he has and improve them
within time to achieve the personal and professional goals and objectives. Apprenticeship is the
best method to apply all skills and knowledge that is learnt by an individual during his
educational period under supervision of mentors and leaders. This will enhance more practical
professional knowledge to achieve goals.
Self-development plan: personal development plan in the effective theory that enhance
various skills and knowledgeable factors in an individual or group and encourage to maintain all
professional skills as well. Apart from the development through coaching and mentoring is also
the effective theory to increase the skills level.

Issues and challenges arising from PPD plan
While working on personal and professional development plan, it is considered that there are
major challenges and issues which are arises through different sources. Which are related to
major changes and development that are associated through the planning process of the personal
and professional development plan. Further dealing with change and having different sources are
related to major sector of identifying the planning need and make appropriate actions. While
working within the society and make professional development plan it is important for the
societies to make effective development plan and work as per the growth and society of PPD
plan. There are different challenges and make issues which are related to personal and
professional development plan (Koner and Eros, 2019). This is one of the critical approaches that
may be used and manage by the person to developed the professional and personal development
plan. One of the major challenges which is face throughout the plan is to stretch yourself and
make out from the comfort zone. While working on the PPD this is an essential task to make
yourself effective and indifferent throughout the action period of time. And this will be related to

environmental support team to work in a more organised way and make sure to achieve all the
desired plan and its objective. Some of the major issues are explained below:
Identifying the goals: This is one of the important and foremost challenge and issue which are
face by the person in order to make effective planning. To make PPD plan it is important to
analysis and arise the need of the goals and make PPD (Matherson and Windle, 2017). So, to
identify the right gaol and make next step according to that is the biggest challenge for the
people.
Make an effective plan: after analysing the need and goals of the plan, the next
challenge which are face by the people is to make such an effective and out coming plan. Such as
make SMART objective which are desirable, effective and make strategic plan as per effective
planning strategies.
Make success: After analysing the plan and tried to make success which are related to
make SMART objective and make effective success plan to analysis the growth and make
objectives to work on the success and make proper plan to implement and make effective future
in the overall activities.
Work on the failure outcome: If there are any outcome which are related to the success and
measurable activities (Muammar and Alkathiri, 2021). If people are facing failure from their
outcome and make more effective strategies to analysis the change and used more effective
approaches order to work and make more effective approaches.
Tried to be motivated always: while working on overall plan, this has to be considered
that people should be keep themselves motivated and work on the basis of different sector and
growth. Further it has been used and manage to work and implement the plan as per the
motivated sector and improve the personal and professional development plan.
TASK3
Development of transferable and employability skills based on engagement of CPPD activity
Transferable skills are defined as the ability and expertise that is used in various variety of roles
or occupations such as communication, problem solving as well as self-control. It is also known
as the portable skills that contains the quality which is transferred from one job to another. These
are proficiencies that are used in the variety of jobs and industries. Employability skills are
defined as the soft skills that are required to complete the specific task of the job role. All these

employability and transferable skills are based on the engagement of continuous personal and
professional development activities (Ogunyemi, Sugiyama and Ferrari, 2020). These are related
to training and developing professional and personal skills knowledge by the participating in
interactive learning. This form of learning facilitates the individuals to improve their capabilities
with certified learning. In my learning programme all transferable and employability skills and
competencies in such manner to attain all defined goals and objectives in specific manner. All
these skills are learnt by me on continuous bases that facilitates the to complete all task with
more efficiency and effectiveness. Some of employability skills are discussed below:
Communication skills: Communication skills includes the various non-verbal
communication with body language. Strong communication is referred as the ability to
communicate information to others through speaking, writing as well as by other medium.
Different communication skills enhance the ability to when and in which manner ask questions
to other in effective manner, understand body language and talk to people in various context as
well. There are various skills are included such as active listening, written and verbal
communication, confidence and responsiveness.
Teamwork: Teamwork is described as the ability of an individual or group to work with
other person in order to attain common goals and objectives. To maintain effective teamwork,
various qualities are required such as active listening, empathy and strong communication. It is
necessary to maintain effective relationship among all team members, collaborate as well as
coordinate work and having proper conflict resolution.
Decision making: Effective decision-making is appealed by the employers in employees that
shows confidence, effective judgement and efficient working that is a valuable aspect for every
organisation. In order to take effective decision, it is required to analyse all situation, predict
various possible outcomes and select the best option among all as well as find the solution within
defined time frame. In effective decision-making various skills are included such as problem-
solving, analytical skill, creativity and critical thinking (Shodmonova, 2020).
Leadership skills: Leadership skills are required by every organisation in order to guide and lead
all organisational and personal activities towards achieve all goals and objectives. It includes
strong communication, dependability and relationship building as well. There are delegation,
conflict resolution, risk taking, project management, goal setting and various interpersonal skills

CONCLUSION
As per above repot, it can be concluded that personal and professional development is an
important factor that enhances various skills, knowledge and competencies in individual and
group in order to achieve defined career goals and objectives with effectiveness. It enables
the person to manage all learnings and growth throughout career. There are various personal
and professional planning process and theories that facilitates to attain all knowledgeable
aspects that help to achieve all career objectives. In the process of formulation different PPD
plans various issues and challenges are raised that affect the effectiveness of plans so, proper
planning is developed in order to reduces these challenges. Transferable and employability
skills are important for an individual to work in an organisation as well as enhance own
skills and experience through working. All these are engaged with continuous personal and
professional development activities.
