INTRODUCTIONPersonal and professional development is a concept under which individual participate in variouslearning programs in order increase level of his knowledge. Various tools and techniques are there which can be used by an individual for this. From all those tools self managed learning is one of the effective way for managed learning. Before finalize the strategy for learning it is very essential for individual to be well informed about its own strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. ALDI, a leading grocery retailer based in UK who deals in variety of products is taken under this report for study. Various approaches of self managed learning and its benefits to both individual and enterprise is all detailed under this report. Further, effective time management strategies and communication in variety of style at difference enterprise level is all mentioned in this. TASK 11.1 Various approaches of self managed learningSelf managed learning is concept of learning under which individual take part in variouslearning programs in order to increase level of his knowledge. For this various approachesare there which can be used by him. Increase knowledge with the help of research is one ofthe best way as an individual who carry out research analyze various sources such as books,journals, articles and magazines. Further, main methods which can be used by an individualfor enhance level of his knowledge and gather information can be better understood byfollowing points:Take part in seminars and conferences: One of the main an effective method of learning is take part in conferences and seminars. In these programs huge number of individuals take part and exchange their views and ideas and all this increase level of knowledge of individual and increase his self confidence.Internet sources: Internet is a platform which provide huge amount of information to an individual related with any topic. With help of various internet sources an individual can increase level of his information. Participate in various social media sites: Today large number of social platforms are there which individuals use to interact with each other. All this help individual in get views of various individuals on same topic and issue.
1.2 Various ways in which lifelong learning of an individual could be encouragedLifelong long learning means learning on continuous basis which can be either personal or can be professional. Main benefit of this type of learning is that it enhance level of knowledge of an individual and develop various skills and knowledge in an individual and all this increase self confidence of individual (Stenfors-Hayes, and et. al., 2010)This improve communication skills of a person and help him how to create and maintain better relations with others. Main methods to encourage lifelong learning include the following:Self evaluation: SWOT analysis of individual guide him in develop and effective learning plan and achieve maximum output. This help person in well known abouthis own personal strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. For example:Strengths are good motivation skills and learning ability”.Weakness are “ short tempered, rude behavior.”Opportunities are “ lot of opportunities of growth”.Threats are “recession”.Continuous learning: This learning refer to that which an individual learns from real life events and experiences. This can be used by individuals, groups or even by enterprises. Continuous learning is very essential for an individual to better achieve its set targets and goals. In case of learning of employees managers can use help of coaching, training programs and coaching.Effective leadership: Leadership is all about the quality of influence others. Undercontinuous learning an individual learn how to direct behavior of others . All this help a person in find better solution to complex business problems.1.3 Advantages of self managed learningProcess of self managed learning provide number of advantages to both individual and organizations. One of the main feature of this that an individual learn how to take effective decisions at workplace form his past experience and events. Huge number of employees work in an enterprise and when all of them come together to find better solution of problem and when interact information with each other than this enhance all this enhance learning of an individual (Hopkinson, 2014).
