INTRODUCTION
In the present context personal and professional development (PPD) is increasing
significant aspect that focuses on defining objectives and policies that pursue the learning among
the individuals (Achua and Lussier, 2012). However, the study is commonly used by the
professionals and mentors that assist in enhancing the skills as well as individual learning.
Therefore, the main objective behind PPD is that it assist the individual in improving their
performance within the organization. The present report mainly focuses on understanding
different concepts that are associated with the personal ad professional development that mainly
include self managed learning, different learning styles etc. however, the report will also assess
and develop wide range of skills and abilities that supports an individual in promoting their
future career development.
TASK 1
Approaches to self-managed learning and different learning styles (1.1)
Self managed learning is described as a effective process through which individual takes
initiatives in managing learning through conducting research or learning from others (Alna,
2010). Therefore, in the present context self-managed learning also assist an individual in
determining or identifying their own learning requirement and focus on effective learning style
so that they may enhance their knowledge. There different learning styles that support an
individual in raising their learning that is-

speaking (Merryl and et.al., 2013).

reading.
Kinesthetic learners Prefer to learn through experience that is performing activities by the
own.
Methods that encourage lifelong learning (1.2)
The concept of learning is not just restricted within the organization. It is defined as a
ongoing process that focuses on enhancing and raising the knowledge of individual throughout
their life. Basically there are two form of learning that is formal and informal learning (Tileston,
2010). There are different forms through which an individual may encourage their life long
learning that is-
Conducting SWOT analysis- With the help of conducting personal SWOT analysis I can
easily identify the strengthen skills that support me in encourage the lifelong learning. However,
through SWOT I can also measure the skills and learning that I am lacking at the workplace and
in the personal life. Therefore, this method will also assist me in developing the personal and
professional plan to enhance
Self directed learning- Another method for encouraging the lifelong learning is self
directed learning under which I can take initiatives in assessing my own learning activities that I
must pursue for encouraging learning.
