INTRODUCTION Self-managed learning refers to the process, through which individual is able to enhancetheir skills. This approach can be considered either at individual level or at organisational level.Under this process capabilities of employees are improved such as communication, decision-making, working, planning, team- work and so on (Albion and et. al., 2015). It enables theindividual to performance their work effectively. It helps in order to achieve objective at bothpersonal as well as professional level. This report is based on the development of self-managedlearning in order to enhance personal and professional level of an individual. This report ispresented in context with Hotel Travelodge. Hotel Travelodge is one of the sophisticated hotel of London. They are providingeffective and advance facilities to their customers. The assignment manager of the organisationhas been implementing various strategies in order to improve production and creation of hotel(Berk, 2017). Along with this it also results into maximised profitability and increased growth.Along with this time management and communication is also discussed (Travelodge Hotel..2016). TASK 11.1 Strategies for self-managed learning.Self-managed learning process is considered as a process, where various approaches areconsidered for develop leaning. Under this strategies are implemented such as self-direction,self-development and action related to understanding. While working as an assistant manager inHotel Travelodge, I had implemented various strategies in order to enhancing skills of theiremployees (Bukor, 2015). For effective outcomes goal and objectives while consideringstrategies should be clear. It improves the effectiveness and enhances the results. My objective oforganising these activities is to improve planning, implementation and managing skills. For thiscertain activities were organised by me such as communication and planning. Being an assistantmanager, I had attended various seminars (Travelodge Hotel.. 2016). In that seminar, I always came to know that for effective communication skill, individualshould read newspapers, books, articles and so on. Along with this for effective results, Iencouraged my subordinates for proper practices. In order to develop effective learning skills, lprovided various challenges and asked employees to provide solutions (Chok and et. al., 2017).1

With the help of this activity, my subordinated started thinking and implemented concepts tosolve those problems. It help them in order to expand their thinking. Along with this, Iencouraged them for participating into various conferences, seminars and learning activities(Etale- Educate, Innovation, Experimentation. 2017). With the help of this their skills areenhanced effectively. I also implement these strategies in order to enhance my skills. Such asreading newspaper, articles. I had also attended various seminars, which turned me into managerwith effective skills (Chretien and et. al., 2015). In order to get effective results, I haveimplemented Kobl's learning cycle. This process consists of four cycles such as concreteexperience, reflective observation, abstractive observation and experimentation. These fourcycles further distributed into four stages such as driving, assimilating, converging andaccommodation. Under driving step, I provided different prospective to my employees forfeeling and watching, in next step watching and thinking takes place. Under third step doing andthinking strategies is implemented by me, where in last task, I have organised doing and feelingstep of the employees (Cottrell, 2015). 1.2 Way for encouraging professional and personal learning.There are various ways are available in order to implement professional and personallearning skills effectively. Such as effective and lifelong learning. On the basis of them lifelonglearning is considered as most influencing. With the help of this learning approach new thingscan be learned with better understanding. It also help in order to motivate learner and alwayslook forward for new techniques. Hotel Travelodge, had implemented this method into theirorganisation. With the help of it, they are providing knowledge of new skills. Along with thisvarious financial support are also provided in order to encourage employees (Coventry, MaslinProthero and Smith, 2015). Though providing enhanced skills they are able to increase productivity and growth ofcompany. While providing learning to the employees, they are not going to consider, formal ordescriptive approach. Instead of that they give preference to the practical approach. Along withthe organisation is organising some activities and providing way to employees in order toencourage. Such as providing reading material in the form of newspaper, articles. They are alsoinvolving employees into discussion and decision-making process (Cox, Bachkirova andClutterbuck, eds., 2014). With the help of all these steps employees are also taking interest.Various quizzes and puzzles are also organised to enhance their thinking and planning approach,2

also helps in order to test knowledge and understanding. Seminars, Workshops and other suchevents are also organised. In helps the organisation in order to motivate and encourage theiremployees for effective work. These all steps results in order to achieve objective and maximiseprofitability. 1.3 Advantage of self- management for organisational as well as individual level. Self-managed learning is considered as an approach, under which individual is able toadopt learning skills according to their needs. In order to achieve effective results, aims andobjectives are required. Hotel Travelodge, have also developed aims and objectives in order toeffectively implement this approach. The major advantage of applying this approach isconsidered as, it provides impressive results in limited time. It also provides better results, alongwith effective utilization of resources (Dadds, 2014). All the learning and skill enhancement willprovide benefits to the organisation, if employees are able to take innovative and creativestrategies. In order to maximise profitability in company, this is considered as a productiveapproach. All the training and learning activities that are organised by Hotel Travelodge willonly worth, if employees are able to increase profitability. Another advantages of implementing this strategy is considered as, it enhances planningand learning skills ((Fullan, 2014)). Through which workers of organisation are able to managerisks in effective manner. Along with this it encourages employees in order to explore newbusiness environment. If we compare various training and learning programs with self-managedlearning approach. This will be considered as more effective, because in this processorganisation need to spend small amount of capital on their employees. It produces maximumresults compare to other approaches (Travelodge Hotel.. 2016). Therefore, it is considered as advantageous approach for both individual as well asorganisational level. As at individual level, skills of individuals are getting improved. Such ascommunication, planning and implementation. In order to improve and develop skills various activities are provided. These all activities arerefereed on the basis of various researches. 2.3 Evaluation of opportunities in order to meet needs. There are various developments are required to me, in order to meet present and futuredemands. As currently, I am working as assistant manager at Hotel Travelodge, there are lots ofresponsibilities associated regarding management of employees and their functioning. In order tomaintain effectiveness of results various training and learning skills are being held intoorganisation (Robertson, 2016). Along with this leadership and mentoring is also required inorder to achieve effective results. All these activities are organised on the basis of internal andexternal business factors. It helps in order to analyse demands and needs on the basis of thesefactors. These all evaluation helps me in order to identify factors that can be considered asopportunities of the organisation. It also help me in order to provide correct directions foreffective results. On the basis these analysis result, I am able to enhance my performance to getthe position of senior manager (Kafyulilo, Fisser and Voogt, 2014). As responsibilities of senior managers is big as compare to the assistant. Therefore, Ihave to enhance my skills and knowledge for effective results (Russell and Korthagen, eds.,2013). It helps me in order to enhance my potential and raise my accountability. 6
