First Ihave carried out my self assessment through which I came to know about what the areas andskills which I need to learn or enhance. Based on these needs I have jot down my aim andobjectives. Further I was having a variety of learning and development method available and Ihave assessed the advantage and disadvantages of all. This has helped me in selecting the mostbeneficial and appropriate method. It is recommended that people are required to carry out their self assessment and they arealso required to identify what type of learner they are. For example some people learn veryquickly with process such as mentoring and coaching. On the other hand, some people arecomfortable with lectures and hand written notes. Thus, it is recommended that the learning anddevelopment method should be selected on the basis of what kind of learner an individual is. 1.3 Benefits of self managed learning to individuals and organization Self managed learning is an effective process and both individual as well as organizationgets benefited from such kind of learning (Loucks-Horsley and et. al., 200).
