Personal and professional development Introduction Personal and professional development is the means by which an individual set out goals, strategies and outcomes. It is crucial that an individual continue learns and create their skills and knowledge and assure that they continue to work effectively. It is all about gaining experiences and skills. Communication in variety of styles at various level Top level management: - As a manager, I am responsible for effectively listening their rules and obligations which makes me clear about the mission and vision of the organisation. They are the top executives of the organisation so it’s my duty to treat them with due respect and don't argue. In this I will also act as link betweentopmanagementandlowermanagementby communicating the problems of lower level to the management so that effective and efficient solution can be taken. Middle level management: - As a manager, I’m responsible for communicatingtherulesandpoliciestotheentirestaffand employees. It’s my duty to make everyone understand about the mission and vision so that everyone works in accordance for accomplishing goals and objectives. Lower level management: - I am responsible for guiding and communicating them which will help them to understand their work and fulfils the organisations objectives. Iamresponsibleforprovidingeffectiveleadershipand motivational skills to them so that they will feel attentive and work will full zeal and confidence. (Olsen, 2015). Different types of style which are essential in Travelodge are discussed below: - StyleMeaning Listening skillsThis is very important because to work in anorganisationindividualmustbe attentive in listening so that mission and vision are cleared to them and they will work in accordance with it. Presentation skills These skills are useful in presenting rules and policies to the people such that they don'tfeelcomplexandareeasily understood to them. Communication skills Without communication no organisation can run its business. Communication is necessary at every stage and it helps in many aspects in business organisations like guiding, motivating, learning, etc. Communicationisoneoftheimportantfunctionand elementoforganisation,aswithoutcommunicatingno organisation can exist. It is the process of sending and receiving messages through verbal and non-verbal means whichincludesspeech,writing,signals,behaviours, gestures, etc. Being the manager of Travelodge, it will help me to in performing the job and responsibilities. As, there are three levels in the organisation and I am accountable for communicating the rules and policies at these levels are discussed below: -
