INTRODUCTION
Professional development refers to gaining of knowledge and skills for personal
development and career advancement opportunities for future goal of an individual. It is
one of the most formal way by which an individual can set strategies for outcome of
their learning and training and development session.
SOLUTION WORK-BASED PROBLEMS
Travelodge faces many problems at their workplace which is necessary for a manager to
find out appropriate solutions with the adoption of proper strategies and planning. Here
are some methods and steps which enables a manager to identify issues and problems
and provide them a better solution to such issues. Such as:
Identification of issues: Firstly, managers need to identify issues and problems that are
arising within an organisation. Some of the problems face by manager of Travelodge are
employee turnover due to excessive workload as well as low moral staff and motivation
among employees. Herein, managers need to adopt certain strategies to overcome such
problems as well as motivate employees on continuous basis so that employees feel
comfortable and carry out their work effectively.
Provide training: In order to reduce such issues and problems mangers of Travelodge
need to provide proper training and development sessions in order to increase moral
value of employees and staff members. With proper training and development sessions
an employee can increase their skills and knowledge as well as develop their
weaknesses and perform their task effectively.
Clear roles and responsibilities: Here, managers of Travelodge should clearly
delegate roles and responsibilities to its employees and staff member as per their skills,
knowledge and qualification. This will lead to enhance their performance of an
organisation and will achieve goals and objectives respectively.
Reduce workloads: Excessive workload is main issue in Travelodge which leads to
reduce employee’s motivation and performance of employees. Herein, managers need to
heir knowledgeable workforce so that they can reduce workload and employees can
serve their customers in an effective manner.
Open and honest communication: Managers should have open and fair
communication between the employees and staff members so that effective decision can
be taken which is beneficial for an organisation. Moreover, it will help managers to
generate proper ideas and suggestion that will uplift morale and motivation of
employees as well as work with greater dedication.
LEARNING SKILLS AND STYLES
In an organisation communications play's an effective role. Effective communication helps in solving various
problems and issues that arises within an organisation. The different types of learning skills and techniques
which help mangers and individual in performing their task and overcoming to solution which are necessary
for an organisation.
Controller style: Controller style of communication is autocratic in nature. In this style an individual is
demeaning to perform task which is beneficial for himself. Moreover, in this task an individual is not good in
performing task within team members.
Supporter style: In this style, an individual is usually low minded personality. Herein, they praise other
members for not doing their doing effectively and maintaining low interest in assigned task.
Analyser style: In this style, dynamic personality of an individual is asset for a particular organisation. Such
as employees are skilled with knowledge and capabilities in order to deal with critical situations.
Promoter Style: This style indicates as an individual is known for social and extrovert person as they can
easily make themselves comfortable place in workplace as well as with team members. Moreover, this help in
enacting growth and profitability of an organisation and employees in an appropriate manner.
The above mention is certain solution to problem and issues that are arises within an organisation. Herein,
managers are adopting best and effective solution to such problems and creating an effective work place for
employees and staff members.
