INTRODUCTION Strategic leadership refers to providing a vision and mission to company that will help in achieving objectives in the future. It is important for an organization to make goals and objectives so that it will help in growth. Present study will be based upon Charles and Keith company (Dong and et. al., 2017). It is a Singaporean fashion footwear and accessories company that was founded by Charles & Keith Wong in 1996. Report will mainly include knowledge and skills in leadership and strategic management that will require for achieving organizational vision and strategy. Different factors that will have contributed towards skills and knowledge and theories of leadership and management. It also includesleadershipskillsandknowledgethathelpsinachievingorganizationalstrategy. Furthermore, it will include factors that will have an impact on organisational vision and different approaches for developing vision. TASK 1 Knowledge and skills in leadership and strategic management Skills that is required for becoming strategic management are as follows:- Delegating:-A strategic leader will be delegating as they are focused on vision and mission that will help in achieving objectives of Charles & Keith. It is the most important skill that will be possess by different strategic leaders for achieving growth in the company. Communication:-This is another skill that have to posses by leader in the company. It is important for leader to easily communicate with its subordinates that will facilitate in doing work effectively for the future. Problem Solver:-leader must be able to solve problem of its subordinates as it is important for solving problem of employees in Charles & Keith (Eva and et. al., 2018). This will help in strategic thinking that will be providing different perspective for the future. Clarity and decisive: The leaders must be clear about the goals or objectives that they are portraying, and they must be quick in taking correct decisions (Rothaermel, 2016). There are many other skills that a leader must have such as motivating employees, correct planning, dealing with emotional intelligence, conflict management, enhancing communication at different levels and planning adequately and justifiably. 1
Above skills will help in achieving organizational vision and strategy that will be facilitating in the future. In Charles & Keith a leader must have knowledge regarding policies and procedures that will be adopted in company. A leader must have knowledge about company's operation that will be facilitating different perspective for achieving success in the future. This will help in gaining different perspective as leader must have both technical and non- technical knowledge for running its operation smoothly without any breakdown. Skills such as motivation of employees and the exercising and implementation of emotional intelligence also contribute to the better performance of the employees as they are able toincreasetheirperformancebyprovidingthembetterincentivesormotivationalbasis. Additionally, when the managers and leaders are able to resolve the conflicts that arise at the workplace effectively without decreasing the morale of the company, they can develop a workforce that is more loyal and has higher performance level amongst the organization. When the employees feel that they are respected and they are satisfied with the manner in which conflicts are addressed, they align their interests with that of the organization’s thus making the entire process profitable. Factors that will help in achievement of organizational vision and strategy other than skills and knowledge Organizational structure is one factor that will be help in achieving organizational vision and strategy as if working environment of the company will be depend on the structure that will be followed by Charles & Keith. As if it will adopt flat organizational structure then every level of management will be interacting with each other easily that will create a good working environment. Another factor is organizational culture as there are different employees that are coming from different culture as it includes values, norms and beliefs that will be followed in the company. If both organizational structure and culture is good then it will help in achieving vision and strategic goal of Charles & Keith (Bolden, 2016). The financial situation of the company is one of the major contributing factors for the developed of strategies that can assist in achieving the desired vision. Charlie and Keith has its headquarters in Singapore and their annual revenue is estimated to be at $400 million (Gopee and Galloway, 2017). The company is spread throughout the world and deals mainly in the footwear and accessories retailer. 2

Political uncertainty further affects the implementation of the strategy and since the political environment of Singapore is currently stable and facilitating, this will further contribute in achievement of the vision. However, the factors and strategies that have been developed need to be backed up with proper human and physical resources i.e. there must be availability of adequately skilled employees who can achieve the objectives by implementing the strategies thus developed. Lastly, the instability of the markets can also pose a major risk for the company where too much movement in either direction might not lead to achievement of the objectives intended. These factors also have negative impact on the company as if proper structure and culture is not being followed in the company that will affect its operation in the future. Risk is also the biggest factor that will create discrepancy in achieving organizational objectives for the future. There is always risk that will bear by a starter for gaining more profit and productivity. Without risk business cannot be run properly asthere are many factors that will affect functioning of Charles & Keith. Therefore, these factors will also help in achieving vision and strategy. Theories of leadership and management Hersey and Blanchard Theory This theory will be mainly emphasize on maturity level of its followers and also adopting situational style of leadership. This consist of four group of employees such as low maturity, low-medium, average maturity and high maturity that will help in determining maturity level of followers. Low maturity:-In these employees are not willing to perform good according to task ans in this telling leadership style is being followed. Low-medium maturity:-According to these employees are willing but they are not able to perform task. Selling leadership style will be followed by management under Charles & Keith. Average maturity:-Employees are capable but unwilling to do task that will enhance participating style of leadership (Bell and Harrison, 2018). High Maturity:-Employees are performing task that is being given to them and in this delegating style of leadership is followed. This theory will help in achieving different perspective that will be able to gain different aspects of Charles & Keith. Transformational leadership Theory 3
This theory willmainly emphasize on bringing new ideas and innovation into the company that will changes in Charles &Keith. Leader will be focused on making improvement in business operations that will bring transparency in doing work. This will help in gaining more competitive advantage in the marketplace as company is bringing changes time to time according to market. Transactional Leadership: This theory can be used to gain compliance of the followers by giving them rewards as well as punishments. The leaders at Charles and Keith should avoid implementation of this theory in the long run but it can be implemented for achieving short term goals. Tri- dimensional leadership: This theory gives three dimensions i.e. personal dimension, interpersonal dimension and organization dimension and the leaders can implement this to lead from their own strengths (Willis, Clarke and O'Connor, 2017). This is the most innovative leadership that can be implemented in Charles & Keith assisting in bringing innovation in the leadership thus implemented. Charismatic Leadership: This style influences the people into agreeing to whatever the leaders purports, or they are encouraged to think in the manner similar to that of the leader. At Charles & Keith, this tactic must not be implemented because this tends to brainwash the thinking of employees forcing them to think in a particular manner. Situational Leadership: Here, a leader is motivated to take decisions on the basis of individual situations rather than being rigid and this is the best style that leaders at Charles & Keith can adopt. TASK 2 SWOT Analysis Swot analysis is being done for identifying strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of an individual for surviving in the market. Strength Mycommunicationskillisthebiggeststrengththatwillhelpinattractingmore customers towards company that will lead to increase sales in the future. Another skill is problem solving that will help in gaining trust of employees in company for the future. Weakness My biggest weakness ismy decision making skills is not good as I am not able to take decision for the company. This will create problems in business as decision making is the important part that will help in increasing efficiency for the future. Opportunities Getting promotion in company will be opportunity for me in future growth in business. There are different factors that will bring more opportunities for future course of action. It is important for me grab opportunities that will facilitate in getting into different sector and having expansion in the future. Threats Competitors are the biggest threat for mine as other employees are more efficient as compared to others in the company (Storey,2016). I have to do practice so that threat will be reduced and help in gaining different aspect of company. Objectives for meeting personal development needs I want tobecome successful that will bring efficiency and effective in the work for future course of action. By providing good quality product I will satisfy needs and wants of customer. I want to improve my decision making skill that is very necessary in gaining more knowledge and helps in involving more into business operations. I want to achieve objectives and goals that will be creating different aspects for the future course of action. It is important to achieve goals and objectives that will help in building relation between employees (Goldman, Scott and Follman, 2015).
