1.Introduction Personal development plans are an essential factors that helps the individual in developing their skill set step by step and will also make sure that individual has an action plan that can help them in personal development which is essential for their personal as well as professional career(Vlasov, V. and Chromjaková, F., 2018.). This planning will help the individual in building a skill set as well as will help the individual in analyzing their strengths and weaknesses. It will help the individual in setting the goals for the future and will also motivate them to move towards those goals and objectives continuously.In this report, concept of personal as well as professional development have been discussed. In the given report, the concept of short term, medium term, long term goals are also given. A set of three personal short term, medium term and long term goals are also given. The short term goals are for a shorter period of time and serves as a stepping stones in the career path of the individual. Medium term goals are the one that requires a little more time than short term goals and are also a little bigger stepping stones for the career path of the individual. The individual may make sure that they are going n the right direction with the help of personal development planning and it will also help the individual by making sure that the individual develops a skill set and is not directionless in the middle of the career. 2.Definition of the concept of personal and professional development The professional and personal development plan helps the individual in making sure thattheyaredevelopingtherightsetofskillswhichcanhelpthemintheir professional as well as personal life. It is important for the individual to make sure that they have a plan as it will help them in moving continuously towards the goals andobjectivesoftheindividual(Titchmarsh,A.,2019.).Thepersonaland professional development plan can help the individual in having correct path through which the individual can reach to the ultimate goal. Without proper planning the individual may become directionless in the middle of the career path. 3
3.Description and discussion of the value of short term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples The short term goals of an individual are the one that has a time limit of not more than 6 months. It is important for the individual to have short term goals as the completion of these goals provide motivation to the individual also these goals serve as the small stepping stones for the individual which helps them in achieving the ultimate goal of the individual(Niculescu, V., Sterca, A. and Bufnea, D., 2020, November.). It short term goals will help the individual insetting small goals that does not require a lot of planning or assistance. These are the goals that are basic in nature. Short term goals are the one that helps the individual in making sure that they are on the right path and does not involve much time as well. These are the basic skills that are very common and are required in almost all the fields of career as well as in personal lives of everyone. According to me, short term goals are extremely important for myself as they help me in continuously moving towards my goals andobjectives andwillalsohelp mein beingmotivatedthroughout the process. Some of my short term goals are given below: I want to improve mystress management skills. I want to developtime management skills I want to improve mycommunication skills. 4.Description and discussion of the value of medium term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples The medium term goals are the one that helps the individual in developing skills that requires more time than short term skills. These skills have a time from of not more than 24 months. These goals must be achieved within this time frame. It is important for the individual to have medium term goals as it will serve as a bigger stepping stone in the lives of the individual. While planning for these skills the individual can take help of Smart framework which will help them in analyzing their skills and will also help them in managing those skills while making a personal development plant. The SMART framework consist of specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound(Sokhadze, T., 2019.). It is important for the individual to make sure that the medium term goals are properly planned as these goals can be bring sometimes and may provide lack of motivation because of the time which is involved in it. Long term goals include a time stamp of at least five years and hasgreat significance in the lives of the individual. Long term goals have a great impact on the professional as well as personal lives of an individual as it will make sure that the individual is continuously working on the path that they actually wants to select(Whitehead, M., 2020.). It is important for the individual to have at least one long term goals which can help them in analyzing what they actually wants in their career. According to me, long term goals are very important in may life as my professional and personal life is directly connected to them. These goals involves my ultimate career plan. These goals provided motivation to me throughout the process in order to make sure that I am continuously working towards my goals and objectives and has also make sure that I am developing those skills that are actually beneficial for me. Some of my long term goals are given below: I want to improve mylanguage skillsand will also learn at least one foreign language. I want to become an investment banker and wants towork in a reputed firm. I want to develop myown librarywhich have books that I like to read the most. 5
6.Description and discussion of the value of a Personal Development Plan personal development plans serves as a base to the individual following which the individualcanobtainaskillssetstepbystepwhichcanhelpthemintheir professional as well as personal life. It is important for the individual to make sure that they are on the right track so that they can achieve their desired goal or objective efficiently and effectively(Aliu, J., Aigbavboa, C. and Thwala, W., 2021.). These plans provide stepping stone to the individual so that they remain motivated and can develop a skill set that is actually important for them. It is important for the individual to have skills that are actually required by them to develop their career. Their are large number of skills that an individual can obtain but obtaining the correct skill with the correct time stamp is the ultimate goal of the personal development plan. 7.0 Conclusion From the above report it is concluded that personal development plans are an essential factor that can help the individual in making sure that they are working in the right direction and also helps them in developing a skill set that are beneficial in their professional career as well as in their personal life. It is important for the individual to make sure that they have the right skills to achieve the desired career anddevelopingtheseskillsfrom anearlytimecanbeverybeneficialfor the individual.
