1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development,
and the transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
Personal learning and development can be described as a lifelong approach that
help person to assess their life and career as well develop their skills in order to fulfil
their potential (Steinherr and Vay, 2022). This will makes me proactive in order to
take charge for my actions. It contributes towards my satisfaction as well as success
in my life in effective manner. With the help of self-improvement skills I can
effectively make my personal learning and development. This will helps me to define
my personal vision as well as life goals in clearer manner. This makes easier for me
to create a plan as well as work towards it in order to achieve my objectives more
effectively. My learning and personal growth are important for personal development
and learning. I can learn from my past mistakes as well as overcome challenges by
proper education, training as well as guidance. The more I can work on my skills and
abilities, the more I can discover my hidden potential. This will help me in pushing
my boundaries as well as exploring new things in order to utilise my knowledge more
effectively. Personal learning and development is empowering which allows me to
take control of things related to my life. This will make constant improvement which
makes me to feel more confident as well as motivated in order to achieve my career
goals. This increases my productivity and performance in order to achieve
satisfaction in my career in better manner.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
Transferable skills are usually those skills which can an individual use in every
job profile by not focusing on focusing on particular field or title. Some transferable
skills are hard in nature which includes data analysis, coding or any other technical
skills whereas some are soft in nature which includes communication, teamwork, or
relationship skills (Palomino-Flores, 2021). All transferable skills are important for
me in order to work effectively in any field. By the development of these skills I can
effectively use in my future job in order to become valuable employees for my future

job. Transferable skills are desirable in every organisation due to which employer
does not require providing training to them. The transferable skills includes various
skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, analytical reasoning, leadership,
adaptability, teamwork, time management communication, writing, listening,
creativity and so on. These help me to perform my task in better manner by
collaborating with my team members in better manner for completing the task on
time as well as helps company in order to achieve their career goals in better
manner (Patterson, 2019) . These will more essential to me for improving and
growing my career in better manner. This helps in showing to my employer as I am
more adaptive and versatile in order to conduct my task in better manner in order to
achieve my career goals. These skills are not only helpful in my profession career
but also for my social and academic life. This will help me to make career changes if
I am not comfortable in current career life.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
Transferable skills are most important skills which help to conduct any job in
better manner. There are many transferable skills I would like to develop during my
academic studies, personal life as well as workplace in order to conduct my task in
better manner (Steitz, 2020). These will incur problem solving skills, teamwork skills,
time management skills and communication skills. These will helps me to make my
academic and professional career more effective in order to conduct my task
effectively. Problem solving skills is important to me in order to solve my future
problems in better by analysing the situation properly as well as thinking about the
best solutions for solving it in better manner. Teamwork skills make me to learn how
I can effectively perform my task by collaborating with my team members by
achieving common goals. Time management skills help me to conduct my every task
on time in order to enhance my career goals. Communication skills helps me to
communicate with other person in more appropriate manner in order to make other
influence to conduct particular task in more effective manner (Ooi, 2020).
