1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development,
and the transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal learning
and development
Personal Learning and development is the procedure of whole life in which each
individual must focus on themselves in order to improve their future life. It is basically
considered as a process for self-improvement in the next life, which requires a person
to focus on developing various skills and qualities in their own life. This can be achieved
independently or through the work environment(Caena, and Vuorikari., 2021). There are
different types of benefits from personal learning and development in the life of an
individual that are written down below:-
This helps some person to improve and enhance their career through the growth
of skills.
It enhances an individuals life and enables them to get a good work life balance.
A well defined goal in the life helps the people to be always motivated in order to
accomplish the goals.
It enables an individual to set a very clear vision and goals in their own life.
It helps a person to get acknowledge about their capabilities and skills in much
more effective way.
I had developed various skills like problem solving, creativity, adaptability etc.
from both books as well as internet. There are various books that are related to
leadership and time management which helps me to enhance these skills much more in
myself(West, 2020). I had read different types of articles and essays with the help of
online website. This enables me to learn various facts about living the life more happily
and stable. There are various books and internet sources that assisted me in enhancing
personality and developing professional skills. These books are were helpful in learning
experience and offers various insights on how to improve personal and professional
skills(Porath, 2018).

1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed by
attending this module
Time management: - It refers to the planning process for dividing the time to
carry out the activities. This skill helps me a lot in defining how much time I need to
spend on different types of activities. This allows a person to complete the same task in
less time and with less stress. It also helps an individual to grab more opportunities
instead of wasting time on trivial activities(Dabbagh., Attwell. and Castañeda., 2021). I
personally think that this skill has a great meaning in my life because without this skill I
could not reach the other skills. In completing the activities within the allotted time
frame, proper planning must be performed and time allocated according to the activity.
The qualities that I believed it came into my life through this skill are written down
below:-
It enables me to get less distracted in performing the activities and increased my
overall efficiency.
It helps to keep my the things more easier and simpler.
It increases my level of focus as well as improvised my overall performance.
It enables to get me a lot of free period of time to conduct extra things that are
imperative for me(Fournier., Molyneaux, and Kop 2019).
It helps to enhance my confidence and reduce my stress level.
Leadership: - It is considered as the quality of an individual to guide or influence
their followers in order to improve their life. The skills that helps the leaders to guide
their followers much more effectively is by focusing on their emotional intelligence, by
enabling an effective communication and by focusing on developing the skills of
followers. It also enables me to increase my confidence level, enhance my negotiating
skill and enables to develop my personality. Through this skill it provides me a
knowledge that to achieve something great in the life it is very vital to become an
effective leader. It teaches me about to handle a lot people at the same time by
providing them the guidance and improving their lifestyle.
Adaptability: - This is the quality of an individual that enables them to quickly
get involve in the changing circumstances. It basically helps a person to easily able to
learn something new such as skills or behaviours(Garratt, 2019). This quality that is

adaptability helps me to handle the undesirable situations in much more effective way
which however enhances the chances of succeeding in the life. This skill majorly helps
me to counter the issues that I face in my life and enables to get me stable life. The
benefits that I get from this skill are written down below:-
It enables me perform an effective activities under the pressure or stress.
It helps me to get adjusted in the situations that are going to come and encounter
it perfectly.
It helps me to easily accept the thoughts and views of different people without
doing any discussions.
It enables my mind to adapt the change that is going to come in the future.
Creativity:- This is the quality of a person to think in a very much creative way
as compared to some typical person about the different tasks. This skill has helped me
a lot in solving the difficult issues by enabling a different approach in thinking about the
problems(Lan, Wong, and Guo, 2021). It enables an individual to ascertain the various
chances and the vital tools to grab the opportunities. This requires a creative mind as
well as problem solving skill in order to be good at this skill.
Problem solving :- This skill helps the people to examine and analyse the
complex issues and then ascertain the solution for the same issue. It is basically
considered as a skill in which a person use various strategic methods in an effective
manner to solve the difficult issues. This skill helps me a lot in finding out the solution
for the problems at different circumstances.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
Communication skills: This is considered as the quality of an individual that
enables them to get an understanding of the informations much more quickly and
accurately. In order to be good at this skill it is vital for an individual to focus on various
skills such as listening skill, observing, speaking etc. This skills enables a person to
improve my relationship with my relatives because it helps me to conduct an very much
effective conversation with them. It also enables an individual to conduct an effective
conversation with other person which moreover helps to resolve the conflicts.

Collaboration skills: This skill is very important for a person who wants to
perform the activities with a team in order to achieve a common goal. An individual has
to be good at communicating and listening with other individuals as well as respecting
the cultures of their team members(Rodrigue, Trudel, and Boyd,2019). The three vital
elements that is much needed for a person who wants to perform the best work in a
team is trust, tolerance and self awareness. It basically helps a person to work well with
other individuals and develop the ideas simultaneously. This helps the company or an
individual to complete the work much more effectively and efficiently.
Interpersonal skill: It is a skill that a person can use to interact with some other
person and communicate much effectively. This skill has a great importance in
conducting an interview for an organization or building a relationship with some other
individual. This skill also helps in improvising various other skills such as positivity,
communication, empathy, negotiation etc. This skill majorly helps a person in
performing the activities in a team because it helps all the person in a team to
effectively interact with each other. This moreover provide an effective work and better
results.
Public speaking: It is basically a capability of a person to speak publicly in front
of a large audience. This skill requires a good amount of confidence because it is very
difficult for a normal person to go out on a stage and speak some words in front of a
significant number of audience(Yu, and et al., 2019). This skill can be used in every field
whether it is an private organisation or educational institutions etc. This skills helps an
individual to get an understanding about to handle a big amount of people, it also
enhances a leadership skill within the individual.
Innovative thinking: This quality enables a person to become a successful
leader in the life. This is basically an ability of an individual to think of an another
technique or tool to perform the activity. It is basically a creative thinking of generating a
new notion to complete the assigned task. It play a vital role in some person life
because it is must needed quality in this decade. Everyone trying to come up with a
new idea and establish a business, the first who came with a idea has an advantage of
creating a monopoly for that particular product.
