Personal learning is a self enhancement and personality development process, the purpose
behind personal learning is to attain social and intellectual wisdom. Personal learning helps in
developing productive skills and cultivate strength within the consciousness to present self.
Personal learning teaches values such as, self reflection, critical thinking and infuse the
ability to remain content with a relatively lower state of well being when an alternatively
higher level exists. It strengthen person to face the ground challenges and attempts to solve
them with ease and wisdom. Personal learning infuse positiveness and confidence in a person
which helps in attaining the targeted goals (Halberstadt and et.al 2019). I personally believe
in personal learning because it helps in developing essential qualities which are indeed
important for career growth as well as for social prestige. For me, all the personal learning
activities and approaches are fruitful which will certainly help me in my academics and
career. For any individual seeking a professional career requires the professional identity and
personality development for stand different from the rest. I always look forward to attain all
the required skills which will help me in my career advancement. As there are many
examples , where people have attain the goals of their life just by bringing professional
changes in them. It is indeed true that professional attributes elevates and grooms the
personality of an individual, such individuals obtain many opportunities. I always get
motivated by seeing those personality how have the charming and compelling personality
who can make people convince easily. On of the best skills which I am always fond of is the
communication skills. Whoever posses a good communication skills have the ability to
convince people and make things easy. Therefore, I think each person should develop the
way of speaking.
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
My approach towards personal learning and development would be to understand the
basics of personal learning and constant efforts to practice these learning because these
learning requires consistency and dedication and regular practice and I am sure that on
attaining these learning will change my overall personality and will help in elevating my
academics and career growth. Personal learning and development will open many
opportunities for me in various sectors. Personal learning and development infuse confidence
and motivation and cultivates professional abilities and skills to attain goals and target. It has
been seen many individuals do not create space in society due to lack of personal learning.
These learning dosed not come with birth is has to develop and enhance with practice. In
personal learning communication skill is must. A good communication skills solves many
problems as it is the main source by which an individual can develop his/her personal
learning. As I want to develop my personality, and I am thriving to enhance my
communication skills and other traits of personality. Personal attributes including physical
plays a major role in making a selection in any competition, merely having a knowledge is
not adequate. A person should have a decent sense of living. Personal learning grooms and

infused confidence in a person which helps in achieving the desired goals. In the present
scenario, all the formal sectors, the condition for a recruitment is that a candidate must have
the basic traits, including , communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership traits,
team management skills. There are few individuals who posses such skills. It takes time to
develop all these skills. In the same way I am thriving to develop all these traits in me for my
career advancement. Especially, the communication skills in which I lack behind, I have of
public speaking and I never realized the impact of these deficiency that will cause negative
impact on my overall career prospects. Therefore, to overcome such fear I have decided to
work on my personal deficiencies to make my p[personal identity more compelling and
charming.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
The transferable skills are the shared skills which a person embrace from others
(Loughlin and Dorian2019). An individual in his life learns from different personalities, jobs
or profession and being a student of business and management I have learned few general
practical skills which helped me in my academics and decision making. The practical skills
which I embraced are as follows:
 Multitasking: An ability to perform several task at ones, multitasking enables a
person to handle different situations at one point of time. It requires extreme and
intense presence of mind. Multitasking skills can only be developed by constant
practice and I have acquired multitasking skills and I has benefited me to handle
complex and tricky situations. In sports multitasking skills are proved very effective. I
participated in many sports event and this skills helped me to win the games. Other
than games, there are various activities which could help in improving multitasking
skills. Multitasking is a practical skill which can only be developed by remaining
constant and focus to the objectives. Multi tasking requires deep concentration.
Experience and confidence. By constant practice and handwork anything can be
achieved or developed.
 Leadership: leadership is a collective traits of all personal skills which makes a
person true leader or mentor(Menz2020). For every business and management
students it is necessary to learn leadership qualities theoretically as well as practically.
Leadership quality is essential for business. I have performed many tasks in which
leadership is required. Leadership quality enables a person to remain calm and
confident and always ready to face the challenges standing ahead. As I have
developed leadership quality in me and I have experienced its importance and impact
on certain situations. I will keep improving my leadership qualities in order to apply
this to manage my social life and business. My leadership skills would surely develop,
I dare to take the challenges and face the situations confidently. Initially, things get
tough but, with practice things get in control and easy to handle. Continuous practice
and active participation in task will prove an opportunities to identify the problems
and solutions. Leadership is not an single person act, it is the collective efforts which
makes a task accomplished. Therefore,it is high time to work on these skills in order
to develop them and to utilize them in career as well as in personal life.

1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
There is a saying that 'nobody is perfect', and it is indeed true, every body wants to
become perfect and best in their lives but this is rarely possible. It take a strong will power
and hard work and consistency to develop a skill. If I talk about myself, I want to develop
my skills in which I am lacking. Skills like, communication, team management, leadership,
time management are the profound skills which everybody wants to attain (Mozley D'Silva
and Curtis2020). And I am seriously looking forward to attain skills which will help me in
my future business.
 Teamwork: It is a concept of soldiery, where all the members collectively execute a
task in an effective manner (Tan and Laswad 2018). In the same way, in business too
team management is essential for managing the entire business operations.
Considering my career interest in business or corporation I need to develop teamwork
skills. Because this skills will assist me in establishing coordination between team
members. These skill will enhance my personality and confidence to challenge the
difficult situation. Team work creates a network , bond and strong understanding
between the team members. Any task can be sort out collectively. Therefore, I need to
keep participate in the groups and subscribe myself to activities where teamwork is
required in order to develop the ability to perform effectively with team members.
 Creativity: It is a mind fickle trait which allows a person to think in different
dimensions and brings effective changes in things or in process. Creativity is a skill
which makes a person to execute a task in smart ways. Creativity develops at early
stage of life because person tries to find easy solutions or a shortcut ways to finish off
task. This skills depends on situation and requires open mind and wisdom. In my case,
I want to develop my creativity traits to handle the critical situation with ease.
Creativity brings new values, ideas through experience. I want to be more creative in
my social life as well as in my professional life because creativity brings self-esteem
and allows to handle a situation in a creative way. Creativity further motivates to
learn more, people tend to absorbed themselves in attaining goals who are creative
and they do perform well in their live. Therefore, it is inevitable for my personal
growth and I will do my best to acquire all the skills with purpose to accomplish my
professional goals.
