1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development, and the
transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal learning and
development
Personal development is defined as a process of lifelong under which the people
assess their skills and qualities a for the purpose of achieving the desired goals and objectives
in order to realise and maximize the potential. It is essential for an individual to to settle the
goals of life as it helps in employability prospects. I also develop some set of skills and goals
so that I can really went leave work and make my career more effective. I would like to
develop several skills within me which helps me in making my career in the marketing field.
There are several skills with identified to have a necessary in a Marketing Executive
Manager. I found that some of skills are already available in me which I gained during my
academic studies. Along with the several of events have been no performed by me which also
develop some skills which are really useful for my future. But some skills are not yet
available within me but I would like to develop them as It will help me in making my career
in a effective manner. For the same purpose I have to develop the language skills culture
awareness skills along with the knowledge of relevant laws and legislation.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed by
attending this module
 Information technology: As it is well known that a technology is playing an
important role in all the business operations as it make the business operation more
easy as compared to manual process. It is a Transferable skill which I already have
developed in me by attending the given module. By the development of Information
Technology I become professional in using the computer and Technology at
workplace which helps in completing all the assigned tasks in an effective and
efficient manner. I can use the word process web-based software on a daily basis
which leads to the improvement of business operation.

 Listening: Along with the effective communication skills it is necessary to have
proper listening skills as well. I had developed this skill within me as effective
listening is also an important role at workplace. It helps me in listening and
understanding the aspect of employees and team members are working in the
organisation. Job role of marketing executive or manager it is required to understand
and Process important or Complex information as not listening effectively leads to the
potentially costly mistakes which also result in the loss of opportunities.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies, personal life
and the workplace
While pursuing my academic studies, I decided some of skills which I would like to develop
within me which helps me in gaining good position in an organisation. Some of the skills are
given below:
 Communication skills: It is considered as the most important skill which an employer
notice in their employees. I have completed my study in marketing and Finance. I
would like to develop my career in the marketing field. Hence it is necessary for
marketing executive or manager to have effective communication skills so that they
can develop the effective relationship with the customers which help them in
improving the productivity as well as profitability of organisation.
 Analytical and Research skills: It has been found that performing business operations
is not an easy task. Several of a problems always arise at workplace. It become
necessary for the management to take the effective decisions on the basis of research.
Along with the marketing executive also have to do research to know about the needs
and demands of customers.
