Self-reflection on personal learning and development After seeking the profession in the field of business and management, it is crucial that a person has certain skills and capabilities through which they can achieve all their liabilities in a valuable way. The person should have relevant information on specific field of career in order to follow the profession as this helps in gathering the proper information about overall understanding of the jobs. There are several business and management requirements in order to have large scope of all kinds of aptitudes and capacities. With respect to my career in the course of business and management, I learned lot of things that enabled my personal learning and development in a more positive way. During my learning I also enhanced my transferable skills especially the team work and communication abilities. At the workplace, the most important thing was interaction only and it got developed because of my personal learning. I participated in various tasks and activities which helped me in improving and gaining new talents and abilities. My goal was always to expand all my skills and learn new things which would help me in future. My career helped me a lot in processing and developing new talents also. There are many transferable skills that are needed by an individual at complete journey of their career. In the phase of personal learning, both academic as well as professional skills are important because through that only all talents can get enhanced. In relation with academic skills in the career, it is the most crucial approach in the learning aspect. During my educational qualification, it was important for develop my skills so that I can easily assess in the learning environment. When I got involved into the field of business and management, my overall technical, language and knowledge got enhanced. Reflection on my approach to personal learning and development In terms of personal learning and development, I identified several things during my career.I was learning about the concept of management which is very much beneficial in the future aspects of business. I always had the positive feeling because my all kind of skills and talents were being developed. I felt confident that I would achieve success in terms of personal learning. At the first stage, I set up my goal in relation with my all kinds of academic skills. I recognized all my strengths as well as weaknesses and on the basis of this I used different approaches. My main strength was with respect to the development of certain technical abilities and was being flexible with the course but at the same point of time, I was lacking in making different decisions in accordance with my career. While developing myself, I was gaining support and cooperation from all other executives. The most ability which I developed and through which I can achieve success was the level of confidence. During my complete journey of career, I assessed that my professional skills also got encouraged because I studied about the concept of business and proper management of it and 3
through this; I upgraded my other level skills. In context with achieving career goals and leading to success, the significant talent which is needed is the aspect of problem solving. There were many challenges that I faced during personal learning as it was the first time when I was working in a team. During the initial stage of my career aspects, it was not easy for me to tackle each situation. When I took part in the module, I was getting indulged into different activities which were beneficial for me in improving all kinds of skills and abilities. Transferrable skills I already developed During my career in the field of business and management, I developed many talents and skills which was useful for me in the future aspects. There were different skills like leadership, communication, time management and many more. In order to achieve career goals, these roles are the most important things. While developing personal learning, I was working with certain other people and on the basis of that I enhanced both of my interaction as well as team work abilities. Besides this, I developed my leadership skills in terms of both self-development and innovation. During the career, it is very important that innovative things are being done and the talents of own individual is enlarged. For example, when I was learning about the concept of both management and business concerns, I analyzed that the most important thing which is needed as a leader is that an individual should have the ability to influence other people. By attending the course, I developed this specific skill which helpedmealotinformulatingcertainotherprojects.Therearemanyrolesand responsibilities that are associated with the phase of personal learning and development and for this proper time management is required. It is important that everything is being done with proper planning, mission and within the set deadline. I developed this skill because there were certain projects which were organized and whole team need to work together and time period was being given. On the basis of it I learned that an individual can achieve success only if they are completing the work as per the time period. When I was participating in those projects I developed this skill because now I am completing all the things within the deadline and effective team work is being done. During the field of my business and management, I assessed that everything is being done in a positive way and different transferable skills were getting developed. Skills I would like todevelop during my workplace, personal life and academic studies There are many skills and abilities which want to develop during the phase of my personal life, academic studies and the workplace. Though I enhanced many skills during the career but there were many other capabilities also which I wanted to seek. In relation with academic studies, I would like to develop interpersonal abilities. As working in a team, it is important that effective relationship is there between all the people and proper team work is being done. During studies, there are many projects which needs group of members and proper relation so on the basis of that I would like to develop my interpersonal skills. In terms of workplace, I would like to develop public speaking talent because while doing a job employees need to give presentations on continuous basis due to which they have to speak in front of large group of people. I will seek to enhance my creativity and the speaking skills. Besides this, I also seek to encourage flexibility in teams of patience, adaptability and so on. In context with the career aspects, several consequences may get arise so on the basis of that it is significant that everything is being tackled with patience. In context with personal life, I would like to develop the skill of self-confidence. It is important for my personal life because through this only I would be able to achieve success and would believe in myself. In all the three cases, I would seek to enable different abilities and develop them in a positive way. In 4
