1. Introduction
The notion for personal development refers to a process or a plan which is
being developed in order to enhance the personal skills of an individual as well as
some professional skills. These skills or development is necessary in each person
with an aim of achieving growth or higher success in their future life. The growth of a
person requires a proper balance within his or her personal as well as professional
life so to live as a successful person in a society & achieve sound appreciation in life
at workplace (Bager-Charleson, S., 2020). For this a person targets few short term,
medium term & the long term objective. Short term goals refers to those that are set
to achieve in a very small time period whereas, medium term mentions the plans that
are required to achieve for some time that is larger than 1 year. On the other hand,
long term plans are for longer time period which is larger than 3 years that can even
stay for decades. A person also generates skills by focusing on their personal
development plan & by developing the same, he or she attains a proper view as how
to attain & what time it will consume to accomplish such goals. The present report
mentions a discussion upon personal as well as professional development along with
various short term, long term and medium term goals through their examples.
Further, in continuation to this values and formulation of personal development plan
are done in the report.
2. Definition of the concept of personal and professional
development
The concept of personal development refers to a plan or a conduct of actions
that are indulged in the enhancement of one's personal skills or capabilities. On the
other hand, the concept of professional development talks about the enhancement or
up-gradation in such skills that are needed in a professional life or at work place.
