1. Introduction
The personal development is defined as a lifelong process. It is very important for
an individual to keep enhancing their skills and knowledge in order to be effective
and efficient. The personal development helps an individual to develop their career
and grab the various opportunities. There are various academic skills which help the
individual to work upon and develop their personality through those skills and
knowledge. Activities that develop a person's capabilities and potential, generate
human capital, facilitate employability, enhance quality of life and the realisation of
hopes and aspirations are examples of what are included in personal development
or self improvement. It is not true that personal growth can only take place at a
specific period of a person's life, but rather that it can take place across the course of
an individual's entire lifespan. It is not limited to the realm of self-improvement and
can encompass formal and informal activities for the purpose of fostering the growth
of others in roles such as instructor, guide, counsellor, manager, coach, or mentor.
When referring to positive adult development at the individual level, personal
development in the context of institutions refers to the strategies, programmes, tools,
techniques, and assessment systems that are supplied to assist positive adult
development at the organisational level.( Chaykina, and et.al., 2021).
This report will include the discussion on the concept of personal development,
value of short term, mid term and long term goals and at last a personal
development plan.
2. Definition of the concept of personal and professional
development
the concept of the personal development is referred to as a development of a
human being as an individual in order to increase the ability to perform better. It is
very important for an individual to have personal development and enhance various
skills and knowledge in order to work in an effective and efficient manner. The
professional development is related to enhancing the skills of employees to work
effectively. This is related to improvement in the knowledge so that the organization
is able to achieve growth and success. It has been identified that the personal
development starts from the early life stages for an individual. It has been identified
that the professional development is dependent directly on the personal
development of the individual. This is because it is very important for an individual to
have sufficient amount of skills and knowledge in order to work as a professionals.
There are various academic skills such as communications skills, team leading skills
which are important for the professional development. The personal and professional
development are linked and first the individual needs to develop the personal skills in
order to importance the professional skills and knowledge. (Pope, M. and Denicolo, P.,
2021)
Personal development- the personal development includes the development of the
personality traits and skills for the purpose of performing the different day to day life
functions. This also include gaining the additional knowledge in order to perform task
effectively. There are various skills which need to be development by an individual in
