INTRODUCTION
Personal leadership is considered as a capability to develop as well as use individuals
optimistic leadership traits for guiding the direction of their life rather than letting time and
possibility that determine their actions (Burgos Burgos and Yanez Petro, 2020). The personal
leadership development is equally essential as each person one interacts with others. Also, an
individual’s personal self- reputation as well as encouragement plays huge role in to how they
perform, respond and drives others. This report is based on Jeff Bezos who is CEO of Amazon.
The aim of this report is to justify leadership style and approaches along with their key strengths
and drawbacks.

Using contemporary literature and concepts, justify the type/style of leader you aspire to be.
Assess the key strengths of this/these approach(es) and drawbacks. Compare and contrast
these approaches to leader.
Leadership style is considered as the way as well as approach of facilitating guidance,
executing plans as well as encouraging individuals. Moreover, there are behavioural pattern
which leader such as Jeff Bezos, Karen Brady, Richard Branson, Sharon White and others adapt
for influencing behaviors of their followers. It is the way they provide guidance to their
subordinates as well as encourages them for accomplishing pre-determined objectives
(Hoogsteen, 2020). As there various types of leadership style like autocratic, democratic,
participative and others. Some of them are discussed below:
Autocratic leadership style: It is also considered as authoritarian or directive style. This
describes that the leaders centralizes power of decision making into them as well as
provide guidance to their subordinates for performing the task. Also, it has full authority
as well as imposes their will upon others.
o Strengths: Its strengths is, this allow leaders to take quick decision mainly into
stress –filled circumstances.
o Drawbacks: The key drawbacks of respective leader are, this de-motivates input
of group.

Participative leadership style: In this, leader motivates their follower and subordinates to
contribute its ideas or opinions into group circumstance as well as share its
accountabilities among them.
o Strengths: The key strength of respective leader is, it empowers to perform
together with others based upon consensus as well as acknowledge problems
consequently.
o Drawbacks: The drawback is that, it is time consuming as in this process of
decision making get delayed indefinitely.
Transformational leadership style: This is considered as leadership style where leaders
motivates, encourage and inspires other and teams to innovate and develop change which
will assists them to shape and grow the organizational future success (Pacheco Madera
and Redondo Ortega, 2020).
o Strengths: The key strength of this leadership style is, this allows leader for quick
vision formulation. Also, it promotes enthusiasm.
o Drawbacks: The drawback is, it is risky style as in this leaders utilize their
charisma for serving as role models for its staff.
Transactional leadership style: This is considered as leadership style. This leader
depends upon self-encourage individuals who perform well in effective and directed
atmosphere.
o Strengths: Its key strength is, this style encourage team members for enhancing
productivity. Also, this minimizes costs as develops productivity level get
enhanced.
o Drawbacks: Its drawback is to, these leaders concentrates upon consequences
rather than rewards.
So, Jeff Bezos who is known as a founder and CEO of Amazon. As there are differences
between various style of leadership such as transformational, autocratic, participative and others.
All have their own benefits and drawbacks. The great leader Jeff Bezos adopts the
transformational leadership approach. As transformational leaders are individuals who are
capable for shaping person as well as even communities to align with objectives of that leader.
Moreover, there are several attributes of respective leaders which have been used (ShoreLambert
and Shue, 2020). Also, Charismatic leaders are capable to encourage confidence as well as

secure other commitment to its vision. At starting, Bezos has been competent to lure talent as
well as investors to move his vision forward.
Along with this, Amazon in faster manner expanded from being a book retailer to providing
above 15 million options at present. Also, the firm has explored in facilitating cloud services,
prime membership, and kindle reading and other. Jeff Bezos would be hard pressed for coming
up with any entity into modern history which has transformed the business face above Amazon.
But behind their success, respective leader vision is identified.
Transformational leaders also challenge the status quo as well as aids individual to explore
the way it thought. Amazon initiated as disruptive force into retail book sales through selling
online, but Bezos motivates their team to think in boarder way. Some years after launching,
Amazon initiated to explore ways the product was delivered to customers (Storr, 2020).
Moreover, the two way delivery became standard for online delivery. Also, its firm continues for
pushing boundaries as well as delivers into few markets into hours of order that are being placed.
Transformation leadership is both style and theory where leader employs much particular
approaches or mechanism for building and maintaining relations, enhance morale and
encouragement as well as develop performance of followers. Respective theory assists leaders
like Jeff Bezos to produce much unique thoughts and unique solutions by collaborations.
Moreover, it collaborates with its followers for making effective decision as well as resolving
issues by generations, evaluation and synthesis of several ides and insights. While on other side
this has been determined that respective theory and style of leadership maximizes group
uniqueness as well as creativity but pessimistic impacts like abilities at individuals level because
of dependence.

effective attributes which assists him to become successful.
