PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION1
My philosophy of education is always student centric. It is my believe that every
student is different from one another, and each one of them has their own learning capability
and skills. Each child bring his or her own learning problems with the necessary guidance
from the teacher (O’Connor, 2016). I believe, if the doubts and questions of all the children
are provided with necessary care and affection, they will emerge bright young mind of the
future. Teaching and learning are two sides of the same coin, and it is a lifelong process in
itself, both the teacher and the student develops skills throughout this entire process, which
continue for several years.
I think when the concept of content and its importance comes in the field of teaching,
we can recognize the two different types of knowledge. Subject matter content and particular
knowledge about the area of teaching, and the other part includes knowledge about a
particular group of students. It is my belief that besides the fact of importance of subject
matter knowledge, the role of teacher’s knowledge of content can be divided into three
subparts. The teachers in maximum cases are experts in the subject matter content
knowledge, but often I feel that next generation students continuously are over-burdened by
increasing amounts of content. Pedagogical content knowledge is also a very important part
of the teaching learning process, which is necessary and gained though experience (Mead,
Biesta & Trohler, 2015). In my opinion, knowledge of particular materials and resources for
teaching the particular content and structuring the necessary materials is required which is
curricula knowledge. This process helps the students to fill the gaps in their knowledge and
make necessary connections with the teachers.
According to me, the teaching method, which comprise the principles, and methods
followed by the teachers and trainers are a very important set of the student learning process.
The particular methodology followed can be efficient depending upon both the subject
matter, as well as the learning procedure and characteristic of the learner. In today’s school

learning procedures and methodologies, creativity is very important for the student. The very
basic teaching method is the process of explanation, which I think gives a sense to the object
of communication. The role explanation plays in making concepts clear is very important for
teaching learning process. Lecturing is one of the main basic and primary methods of
instruction, and I think that especially in primary school education it plays a pivotal role. One
factor needs to be assessed in the lecture procedure is the students are passive in the learning
process (Engel, Claessens & Finch, 2013). Demonstration method is helpful for students as it
enables the students to learn through practical experiments and demonstrations, which help in
learning process of students. The stories told often becomes relatable for the students making
the process much smoother. Rationale development is very important in the teaching learning
process, as it helps to develop properly a logical structure be it in lecturing, demonstrating or
even a collaboration structure in between the teachers and students.
I think assessment and evaluation, which includes the process of documentation and
use of empirical data on different knowledge skills, attitudes of students, and personal belief
of students as well as teachers. Assessment is indeed a vital component of learning as it
enables the students to learn. When the ability of students of learning in the classroom
programs, increase and get better with time, it is through these assignments, exams that are
the components of assessment procedures (Claessens, Engel & Curran, 2014). Assessment
helps to develop the motivation for students. If they are poor at some subjects or learning
techniques, they can work hard to improve themselves on a continuous basis. The procedures
like exams and essays guided by speeches, lectures and projects are important part of
assessment, which is a critical step in the process of learning. Assessment is vital part as it
includes and focus on personal learning and group learning. The process includes steps like
having workshops, academic programs and like. In the twenty first century, with emergence
of internet and social media, the more participatory and collaborative methods of instruction
