Gaining experience through internship will help me to develop more opportunities for me
to get selected for the interview. Hence I should focus on developing my resume and
make it attractive by the working experience as an intern or as part time employee within
HR department.
I will also apply for various kinds of jobs within HR department of various companies in
different industries wherever I see the advertisement on different promotional channels.
My other strength is my leadership skill which will help me to influence others toward

Another challenge for achieving my career path is that I am a fresher and I have a lack of
experience in corporate sector. Hence most of the company’s especially high reputed
company asks for experience. I can mitigate this challenge effectively through my
internships. Internship will act as a effective experience gaining technique for me to
achieve my career path. Secondly through my effective knowledge and effective
communication skill I can make them influence that I will be capable for performing the
vacant job role in her department of their company.
Another issue for my career path is managing employees effectively within an
organization because it is the one of the most important possibility of an HR manager to
manage the employees of their organization. Hence it is a big challenge for me to manage
a big crowd of employees within a high reputed company. Therefore this challenge can
be mitigated through my effective leadership and team management skill. I can make sure
that I will communicate effectively to the employees and make them feel better and
analyze their issue let it to available resources within the company and their requirement
and make a effective solution to my employees to mitigate the issues.

Introduction
It is an essential for an individual to focus on their skills so that they will achieve their
personal and professional goal of life. There are some of these skills like communication skill,
ICT skill, time management skill, problem solving skill and many others which are essential for
an individual to gain for Successful future. Gibbs model is one of the most popular models for
self reflection where there are six stages which will describe a situation and the learning out of
that situation (Adeani, Febriani and Syafryadin, 2020). The following report will cover Gibbs
model which will further reflect the learning of some skills for achieving professional growth.
Main Body
Gibbs model
Stage 1- Description stage
This is the stage which will describe the situation that what had happened, who were
there, when and where it happened and many others. Basically this stage will describe the
situation as it occurs.
One day my teacher asks me and my group members to represent a presentation on the
topic personal professional skills in the class. She gave us time of two weeks and asks her to
prepare for the presentation within the given period of time. I have been chosen as the leader of
the group due to my effective leadership and management skills. After next day me and my four
other group members are working to collect data and start working to prepare this project then
we notice that we are facing a technical issue in our PC. All of us tried to solve the issue but we
are unable to solve this issue due to our lack of ICT knowledge and skill. One of us suggested
taking the help of ICT expert and paying him for his services. While completing the project me
and my group faced many issues in collecting data, manage them effectively and then prepare
presentations of useful data and many others but at the end we had finished our project on time
and gave a good presentation in class which is appreciated by our teacher.
Stage 2- Feelings
This stage will explain how an individual feel during and after this situation. It will
further explain whether the feelings before and after the situation are same or different

(Sekarwinahyu and et. al., 2019). It will also explain the feelings felt by other people during this
situation.
According to my situation, I feel very nervous when teacher asked me to manage and
lead group because this is one of the biggest responsibility for me to manage whole group and
perform the presentation effectively. Secondly at the time of facing technical issue I felt very low
and negative and I thought that we are unable to complete our project on time due to this issue
but when the technical issue get mitigated by expert then I feel positive and good and my full
focus is to complete the project on time. When we submit our project and the teacher appreciate
us for our good presentation and the data we used are effective and I appropriate then I feel very
happy and I asked my teacher to appreciate all group members because the presentation is not yet
done alone by me. Hence I feel different before and after the situation and as well as during the
situation.
Stage 3- Evaluation
This stage will explain the good and bad things about the experience that what things
went well and what did not went well during the situation (Blemker and et. al., 2020).
According to my situation most of the things went well except one and that is the
technical issue. On the other hand, there are various things which went well like I get to know
about team working skill that how to behave and act within a team to support team members and
make them influence to work effectively to achieve common goal. I also communicate all ideas
and concepts openly to my team members and allow them to share their ideas to me so that we
can come to and common decision.
Stage 4- Analysis
This is the stage where the individual described why things went well and why things
went bad (Bass and et. al., 2020). This stage will help to analyze the actual fact which helped an
individual to know about this situation and to know the main reason behind the outcome of this
situation.
According to my situation, the one thing which went bad is about technical issue and this
happened due to lack of ICT skill in any member of the team. If we had appropriate ICT skill
then one of us will tackled the issue and we will not wait for the expert to come and give us a
solution to the given problem. Another issue is problem solving skill I get to know that I’m
unable to gain effective problem solving school because if I gain it well then I will make a good

solution to the problem of technical issue. On the other hand, few of the good things happen
during this situation and that is we achieve the goal on time. I and my team become successful to
represent our presentation successfully on time due to our effective communication skills and
effective team management skill. I make sure that I will distribute the task according to the skills
and talent of team members and convey them the main goal of team appropriately.
Stage 5- Conclusion
This is the stage where I get to know about my learning styles and what other skills is
required by me to learn to handle the same situation better if it arrives next time (Al-Jubouri and
Al-Jubouri, 2019). The strength will also analyze my learning from this situation.
According to my situation, I get to know various kinds of skills like communication skill,
team management skill, research skill, time management skill and many others. I haven’t
enhanced my communication skill because while completing this project given by teacher I have
to communicate effectively with my team members and listen what they are suggesting to me. I
have also learned research skill during the experience because I have taken the responsibility to
research about the information related to the project requirement. On the other hand I also get to
know that I’m lagging behind to learn few of the skills like ICT skill, problem solving skill and
few other skills.
Stage 6- Action Plan
This is the stage where individual need to analyze what he or she can do to enhance the
skills which they need to develop (Akella and et. al., 2021). This stage will also help them to
analyze how differently they will act if the same situation will occur next time. Hence this is one
of the most important stage of this model and this is also the last stage where the activities will
discussed which will need to improve the performance of an individual which he can do in this
situation or which he can use to face same or another situation next time (Fathelrahman, 2019).
According to my situation, I get to know that I need to develop my problem solving skill
and ICT skill. To develop problem solving skills I decide to case studies related to corporate
sector. business case studies will include a situation and the problem in this situation and at the
end of every case study there are few questions which are individual need to answer and if I’m
supposed to choose to solve at least two to three case studies every day then I can enhance my
understanding power about the problem and the depth of problem and then make solutions to
mitigate that issue. Hence this will help me to enhance my problem solving skill. On the other

hand for enhancing ICT skill I need to adopt coach method where I need to understand various
ICT techniques through my coach and try practically to learn this skill. I need six to eight
months for both skills to learn effectively. Secondly I will also make sure that I will act
differently if I face same situation next time. First of all I will make sure that I will not get
nervous well taking responsibilities secondly I will check all computers and laptops before
starting any project or assignment that whether they are working properly or not.
Conclusion
From the above formation it is concluded that Gibbs model is one of the most popular
model for self reflection where an individual will analyze the situation and his or her learning out
of that situation. There are six stages in this model starting from description which include
describing the situation and ends at action plan which include analyzing the actions taken to
enhance the required skills. It is also concluded that there are various employee skills which are
essential for an individual to develop their personal and professional life and these skills are
communication skill, time management skill, team management skill, problem solving skill, ICT
skill and many others.
