Self reflection on employment
Employment can be defined as profession or contract that is being made between 2 parties where
work is paid for. After higher education all people want to get en effective employment
opportunities in different fields. But there are several factors that may affect employment and
can make it successful (Hussein, 2018). So, with the help of Gibbs reflective model I want to
discuss and share my feelings about employment as what factors may affect it and can make it
effective such as:
Description: I want to discuss some factors that may affect employment and plays a vital
role. While working in retail industry as marketing assistant I found that working environment
plays a vital role. An effective working environment with having safety, security and friendly
environment motivates employees towards accomplishing goals and retaining with the company
for the long run (Rožman and et.al., 2019). I can also say that an effective working environment
and organizational culture improves relation between employees because it leads to effective
mode or flow of information. It can reduce errors in work and task that can lead to improved
overall productivity and performance.
Feeling: I felt that team working is other main factor that can affect success of employees
and can help them out in getting better employment opportunity. While evaluating I found that I
am good in this skill. I also believe that team working rather working individually increases
knowledge of people and provide them several benefits. I want to share my personal experience
in which I found that when we work in a team for accomplishing same or common goal then we
give our 100% and different people have different styles of performing. So, by working in a team
we can learn different and effective ways of performing and it improves our relation, makes us
able in completing task in timely manner and understanding different cultures as well.
Evaluation: Rather, working environment and culture it is also important of having some
skills that can help employees in becoming successful in their profession. I evaluated my own
skills and weaknesses and found that I am good and effective in communication. As marketing
assistant it is important of having an effective communication skill for interacting with different
behaviours of people and making them understand about products (Genç, 2017). Communication
is one of the main skills that can help all people in becoming successful in their professional and
personal life as for working in organization, there is requirement of interacting with stakeholders.
