This is a time management plans focused on improving the skills. It started by conducting a
self assessment which will help me to identify the qualities and lacking points within me.
This will create more self awareness and will boost my motivation to improve while
acknowledging the good points.
W2: What technology is available to you that improves your personal effectiveness and
then write down two suggestions of what technology is available that could be, but is not
being, used by your orgnanisation.
Answer — Working in a business environment requires the use of technology. It helps in
learning in lot of ways which in turn will help in attaining the desired goals while using the
time effectively. This technology includes the use of computers and related applications,
emails, internet and many more. Scheduling software are beneficial in managing and
monitoring the planning and scheduling with regard to given tasks. It helps in prioritising
personal time and monitor tasks. Business technology such as software like Microsoft
projects is helpful in scheduling complicated long term tasks having different components. It
helps in monitoring daily tasks and programs. It is important to control the planning and
identifying the outputs and not depending much on the technology to set priorities and assign
tasks. The efficiency and pace of doing the tasks depends on the application of computer.
Information technology includes having computers, laptops, scanners and some other devices
such as disks, ROM which helps in providing information to the customers and other
agencies which helps in building personal effectiveness. Technology such as document
management software can be used which is helpful in simplifying the time consuming tasks
and replaces such tasks as manual file retrieval and data entry. Another technology of having
the data backup services and data recovery methods helps the organisation to not get affected
due to a service outage or a disaster. It helps in maximising the productivity for employees
and minimising the downtime.

W3: Find out and explain type A and B personalities, summarise them, and give an
example of how each personality would suit a different section of your organisation and
why.
Answer — Type A personalities are known to be more outgoing and ambitious along with
being rigidly organised. They are aggressive and exhibit a competitive behaviour. They have
risk of having heart complications and are high achieving workaholics. Type A people do not
like any delays and ambivalence. They have high expectations from own self. Type A
personality people are more suited for the organisation context such as in during the time of
workload they can manage to do multitask. There competitive nature makes them perform
their task very productive and effectively. They are also organised which makes them manage
the work efficiently. Type B people are known to have lower stress levels and work at a
steady pace while enjoying the achievement. They have more tendency to disregard mental
stress when they are not achieving anything. In the situation of competition, they are less
focused on the aspect of winning but more enjoying. Type B personalities are best suited in
the situation within the organisation which deals with some changes. This is because they are
more flexible and very adaptable to changes. They have relaxed attitude which makes them
work freely while taking less stress. They exhibit high level of patience which makes them
feel comfortable and be more calm during the time of waiting for results. They help in
bringing out the creativity within the organisation.
W4: Consider different types of feedback you have received from people in various jobs
and activities you have undertaken both in your working and leisure time. How has it
helped to motivate you? If negative, what was your reaction?
Answer — It is good to have feedback from colleagues and supervisors as when an individual
goes out of the way to do a good job, it is noted. It helps in satisfying the needs and demands
of customers as well as managers of the organisation. In the case of good feedback, I receive
praise which boosts my motivation making me perform best. Feedback helps in directing my
working behaviour as well as my performance to attain realistic goals. In the case of negative
performance, it shows that I am under performing and creates an opportunity to improve my
performance. The conditional positive feedback which I received helped me to continue
doing the good work. The negative feedback motivate me to eliminate the bad behaviour. I
take negative feedback as a constructive criticism which helps to strengthen the relationships
and perform the tasks better. It opens the blind spots which I cannot see in myself and take
appropriate steps to improve in the points I am lacking.
W5: What type of courses have you already undertaken? What opportunities are there
for participating in training or seminars that may supplement your career aspirations?
Answer — I have taken my feedbacks into consideration and come with ideas and started
courses which will help my improve. I have to take training for developing skills such as
problem solving skills, making decisions. These training will provide me to expand my
knowledge area more in the technical part. I will attend one day seminars on technical as well
as legal topics. I will attend training of different computer applications so as to be updated
with the technological advancements which are used in the modern business world.
Moreover, I will take part in the team building workshops which is helpful for me to gain
team working skills and learn the ways to work with the team in an effective and productive
way without causing any form of conflicts. Conflict resolution is a very beneficial skill

required to work with a lot of people. It helps in listening to both side of point of view and
learn from others rather than creating a discomfort in workplace by causing the conflicts.

Answer — Networking holds a different meaning and fulfils specific purposes. It helps in

Networking is a simple way of bonding with individuals sharing the common interests and
get together on a regular basis. Traders conduct the business and promote it with colleagues is
a type of networking. Networking is used to identify and encourage individuals while
encouraging them to work together in order to produce new products and services for specific
markets. Networking is a task which the people will do all the time and includes meeting
people while developing relations and communicating with them. Networking is beneficial
for the professional life as it helps in expanding the business with the help of making
contacts. This raises the professional profile and gaining benefits from collective buying.
