INTRODUCTION
Personal development planning plays vital role in the process of defining individual's
reflection, learning and experiences. PDP provides various life long learning and develop various
skills that facilitate the individual to attain determined goals and objectives. Various formal and
informal activities are able to enhance personal skills in human. In order to develop professional
skills various training and development activities are helpful. In this report concept of personal
development planning , short,, medium and long term goals are covered. Personal development
plan is also designed in the project report.
TASK 1
Concept of personal and professional development
Personal development planning is defined as the enhancing various personal abilities of
individual and develop knowledge about which qualities, skills as competencies are required to
attain various determined goals and objectives. All these skills and knowledges develop overall
personality of individual(Allen, 2017). On the other hand professional development planning
main objective is to enhance various professional skills that help to achieve career objectives. In
order to develop various professional skills training and development programmes are conducted
for perform better in specific task.
Concept of Short term goals and its examples
Short term goals are referred as the goals and objectives that are decided for the near
future and accomplished within short period of time. Fulfilment of short term goals facilitates the
individual to accomplish the long term goals also. These goals enhance the productivity,
profitability of individuals. Short term goals are to be accomplished this week, this month.
These are for very short time period(De Vecchi, 2018). Some examples of short term goals are:
Enhance various interpersonal abilities and competencies that coordinate my plans and
policies.
Learn various language in order to develop critical learning.
Develop the habit to getting up early in the morning and do exercise in order to remain
healthy.

Concept of medium term goal with example
After fulfilling short term goals properly, individuals are motivate to et the medium term
goals that are to be accomplished in few months or in the few years , it will depends upon the
demand of respective goals. Medium term goals are basically defined as the bridge that fill the
gap between the short and long term goals(Katz, 2020). Some examples of the medium term
goals are:
Enhance various leadership skills and competencies that facilitates the individual to
influence others effectively.
Develop various motivational skills in order to stay motivated to accomplish future goals
Initiate the new business at digital platform
Concept of long term goal with example
Long term goals are defined as the goals that an individual or group of persons want to
achieve in future. These long term goals are fulfilled in the long period then short and medium
term goals. There are proper planning and efforts are needs in order to accomplish long term
goals. It takes 5 years time period to completion(Sangster, 2017). Various short term goals help
the individual to achieve long term goals. Some examples of long term goals are following:
Get high qualification degree in management from recognised university
Purchase the my dream house and a luxuries car
complete a world tour with family or friends
Value of personal development plan
Personal development plane contains various values and importance to the individual that
includes various set of goals and targets that every one want to achieve in their future. Personal
development plan is the regular process that enhance various skills, knowledge, capability and
competencies in the individual to achieve all short, medium as well as long term goals and
objectives. It is follows proper procedure to develop relative skills and abilities(McNamara,
Healy, and Haegele, 2019). For example I want to initiate a business on digital platform various
skills are required to attain this goals. Personal development plan facilitates to enhance all these
in individual.
