Question One
Give an example that explains how the procurement process is essential for
organizations to create and deliver products and/or services to their
customers?
Procurement is defined as the process of agreeing to certain terms and conditions while
finding and acquiring of works, service or goods from any external suppliers. The
process of procurement is majorly been done with the help of a competitive bidding
process or tendering. The procurement process generally involves the process of
making decisions over buying under certain conditions when the stock of goods would
expire (Bienhaus and Haddud 2018). The procurement process is used for ensuring that
the buyer would receive goods, works or services within the expected price.
In the context of procurement, one example that could be chosen is from Amazon
Company. The company has a wide customer base and thus they have to apply suitable
technique for enhancing the delivery of services or products to customers within the
proper time and place. Hence, they need to concentrate on their procurement processes
to ensure that their stock of goods are appropriate and might suit the customer needs.
Based on this case, a justification to the procurement idea utilized by Amazon is that
the company has recently used a procurement technique known as ProcurementIQ.
Thisb is defined as a marketing intelligence partner that helps in providing a
comprehensive range of services and products that would be able to meet with the
expectations of different clients and procurement departments (Rendon and Rendon
2015). Thus, the procurement process based on ProcurementIQ would be considered as
essential for Amazon as it would lead to easy and fast shipping, flexible options for
payment and support multiuser accounts for their customers.

Question Two
Explain how the SAP ERP system promotes an integrated approach to
business processes?
SAP is the abbreviation for Systems Applications and Products in processing of data.
The SAP ERP is considered as a software that aids towards incorporating the key
functions within the business within any particular organization (Umar et al. 2016).
The SAP ERP supports various modules such as Asset Accounting, Material
Management, Production Planning, Financial Accounting, Quality Management,
Human Resources and Warehouse Management.
The SAP ERP systems helps in providing an integrated approach towards the
processes incorporated within any business. It further helps in increasing the level of
productivity, promotes the quality of outcomes and reduces the cost of materials. It
further aids towards an effective management system of human resources (Bahssas,
AlBar and Hoque 2015). The implementation of SAP ERP within any organization
would help the company to provide increased throughput and better form of customer
interaction.

Question Three
Explain with an example how Master data differs from Transaction data?
Master data is defined as such kind of data, which would not change on a frequent
basis and is always expected in the similar format as would be required by the
business. The master data is defined as an uniform set of identifiers, consistent in
nature and extended set of attributes that would be able to describe the core entities
present within the enterprise. The master data is considered to be non-transactional in
nature (Piedrabuena, González and Ruggia 2015). Some of the examples of Master
data are – company codes, material name, vendors, customers and many others.
The master data represents a particular single source of business data that could be
used anywhere within the marketplace irrespective of location. The master data could
be either stored within a central repository and which would be sourced from more
than one systems or it could also be centrally referenced with the use of an index.
These are thus defined as uniform or consistent set of extended attributes and
identifiers that would be able to describe the core entities present within the enterprise.
Transaction data refers to the different kind of transactions that are made within an
organization. It further includes data, which could be captured. This could include the
example when a ceratin product would be purchased or sold. Thus, the transaction data
can also be discussed as the information that would be directly be derived during the
results generated from transactions. Unlike other forms of data, the transaction data
would comprise of a time dimension (Davis, Geisler and Nichols 2016). This means
that the data would be limited to a certain time period and after a certain time limit, it
would become irrelevant.
One example of the fact in which the master data would differ from transaction data is:

1. Whenever a user would withdraw money from a bank, they would firstly enter their
account number information to the system. After the withdrawal of money, the account
details would be updated with new account balance. The account details with the new
updated balance would be considered as the transaction data.
2. When the bank database would update the information of the customer such as zip
codes, address, gender, country or city, they would be retrieved from the standard list.
These are known as master data or reference data.
