The present report is based on Almo Milk which is the first Australian grown long life almond milk to support 140 AustralianAlmondgrowersandworkAlmondCo,withcooperationofAustralia.This assignment will focus on essential policy and procedure required for WHS management system. TASK Commitment WHS policies are important to be established and implement in organisation for ensuring safety of employees while they are working. It includes to implementation of legislations, effective policies and regulations which must be followed by every employee of a company which facilitate to improve work health & safety (Campbell, 2016). Meanwhile, legal rules are mandatory to be applied and relevant punishment policies should be prepared in Almo Milk in order to make people active to obey safety regulations in proper manner. In addition to this, it is observed that changing in organisational policies takes place for improving the health & safety management system by ensuring availability of desired equipments to provide secure working atmosphere for workers. Policy The policy of given organisation is to follow legal rule of Work, Health and Safety Regulations including desired requirements to ensure security of overall staff at work place. It includes to focus on several criterion principle, action and authoritative statement that are common to various health & safety policies. However, it consist to provide training and learning to safety representatives and also remove them if they are not able to perform their duties appropriately. Meanwhile, it is necessary to take suggestions from employees regarding actual requirements of safety like equipments & machines. Moreover, theses needs should be focussed in every 6 months meeting to establish new safety policy in order to improve health & safety management system of Almo Milk. 1

Almo Milk has several objectives that are given below – To determine hazardous factors and eliminate them to improve work pace safety. To analyse the availability of emergency resources to deal with accidental situations ensuring health of employees (Yanga and et. al., 2018). To evaluate the aspects of improving work place atmosphere for increasing cooperation among employees. The health and safety performance indicators includes the way of working of employees that shows that they are following desired rules and regulations or not. It consist required equipments like first aid box, ointments, medicines, fore extinguisher and m,any more which are necessary for workers to solve minor injuries during work. However, it is necessary to ensure about emergency exit doors or windows along with their proper condition which is helpful for employees in critical situations to save them from injury. Considering overall these aspects, the completion of set objectives can be ensured through evaluating work place condition and views of labours (Bluff, 2019). It is required to carrying out inspections and audit every year to ensure about fulfilment of safety measures. Roles and responsibilities The role & responsibilities of employer consist duty of care that includes: It is necessary to give secure work place, plan and systems of works along with not exposing any worker to hazards. It includes to render data related to risk and hazardsof respective jobs. It consist to provide proper training, instructions and supervision to make employee can perform safely. It is essential to cooperate and take suggestions from health & safety representatives and staff regarding their health & safety. It includes to analyse their skills and capabilities to determine hazards and eliminate them in order to make work place safe for employees. However, it is required to provide training to determine potential hazards and inspecting work place for removing risk factors to make it healthy for workers (Debnath and et. al., 2016). In addition to this, important information is provided to HSR about hazards in Almo Milk organisation and their responsibility for remaining always present in risky situation to solve it. Meanwhile, HSR should visit the site of critical injury and fatality at work place and prepare effective techniques to avoid them for ensuring security & health of staff members. Moreover, HSR should update WHS management system by responding problems or feedbacks of employees. Hazard The hazardous and risks can be controlled by implementing various strategies such as: It includes to engage workers at different level of tasks which helps to solve hazards at different level of given organisation. The hierarchy of controls technique can be implement to determine and evaluate controlling risks. It is beneficial to utilise hazard control plan to implement appropriate way of eliminating them. The plan can be applied at different level of risks including several steps including effective action items. It includes identify control options, select controls, develop & update a hazard control plan, select controls to secure employeesat the time of emergencies & non-routine operations, implement selected controls in workplace and follow up to confirm that controls are effective (Cochran, 2017). Return to work The returning procedure of employees after injury consist action of pre information to reporting manager and then join at fixed date provided by them by depositing discharge papers of doctor according to specific injury. It is necessary for a workers to provide a medical certificate of proper health status of an individual which indicates the they are completely finer to perform their job roles. However, it is beneficial for Almo Milk organisation in terms of retaining experienced staff, decrease turnover, better employee relationships, better productivity and reduced cost of production. Employees also get benefited in respect of retaining social connections, financial security, skill retention and better morale. Emergency management The management techniques are required to be applied in order to manage hazardous condition for securing employees from injuries. It consist explosion, fires, floods, tornadoes, chemical spills, toxic gas release and many. However, emergency windows and doors must be there at work place so that workers can immediately get outside of the manufacturing site to save their lives (Lingard and et. al., 2018). Meanwhile, required resources like fire extinguisher, lab coats, chemicals plash goggles, gloves etc. should be provided to workers for avoiding injury to them. Moreover, emergency alarms and other indicating devices of natural hazards must be established to secure workers. Communication The communication is very important to provide instructions to employees for working safely through following effective practices. It involves to make staff understand about use of desired gloves, lab coats or aprons so that they always use them and work easily. However, it is necessary to provide training to staff about utilisation of emergency equipment like fire extinguisher and make then analyse about meaning ringing different alarms at work place. Moreover, take feedback from employees about condition of emergency devices and other aspects which create hazardous situationsand put efforts to improve them for making work place safe. System evaluation The inspections of working sites should be conduct quarterly in a year to make sure about safe and comfortable work place for staff in Almo Milk organisation.
