Thesis
Canadian settler colonialism was the fruit of European adventurism and it had severe impacts
on the aboriginal people in the country because European colonizers imposed racial
oppression against them.
Research questions How did imperialism fair in the Canadian nation state? What were the reactions of the First Nations aboriginal people on the imperialism from
the European powers? What are the implications of the Canadian society as a settler society? How were the identities of people affected through imperialism in terms of the settler
identity of Canada?
The topic that has been chosen for the upcoming essay is that of unsettling settler
colonialism. The different social structures of the society that existed in Canada in the previous
centuries will be discussed in the essay (Manuel, Derrickson and Klein 2017). The ongoing
settler colonialism will also be discussed later on. The views of the adventurism by the European
countries have been one of the major reasons as to why this kind of imperialism and colonialism
took place in a country like Canada. On the other, the arguments will be presented in the essay
about the impacts of these issues on the First Nations and aboriginals of the country (Snelgrove,
Dhamoon and Corntassel 2014). Clear differences between imperialism and settler colonialism
would also be discussed through more research work.
The essay will argue on the imperial reality of the country since some differences have
been observed among the nature of colonialism between Canada and Europe. The existence of

the First Nations created a problem for the imperialists since the aboriginals resisted the form of
imperialism into the country (Snelgrove, Dhamoon and Corntassel 2014). The impacts of this
Canadian imperialism on the lives of individuals will be assessed in the following essay. The
concept of settler identity in terms of Canada will also be discussed in the following essay.
Essay portion
The following essay will look to discuss on the various aspects of the unsettling settler
colonialism. This is definitely one of the most intriguing factors in terms of the history of
Canada. The scenario has to be looked forward from the imperial reality that existed several
years ago (Veracini 2015). This essay will look to focus on the various facts that would help the
social critics to find the way through the behaviors of the imperial elites and the inspiration of
their activities on the entire scenario. The overall nature of the Canadian society must be
discussed in this paper so the authenticity of their conditions could be highlighted. The colonial
oppression and settler identities of the country are very much different from the perspective that
one will get to see in the contemporary times. Therefore, the review of the policies and social
conditions should be reflected in this essay so the critics can understand on this issue.
The context of the settler colonialism is one of the most important factors for the
understanding of the situations. The settler identities in Canada have helped the people to
establish the solidarity in the country. The main purpose of the colonizers should always have
been on establishing a very smooth relationship between the indigenous and non indigenous
sections of the people. This will only help the society to put on the restraints and help the people
to make the positive contributions. The settlement in the different parts of the country and their
steps to deal with the various challenges should be done properly. The local and national

governments must pull up some policies that would cater to the needs of the indigenous people in
the society (Veracini 2015). It has been seen and found that the organizations within Canada
must look up to provide support to the indigenous people since they are the most important parts
of the society (Bonds and Inwood 2016). The concept of the settler colonial power should be
discussed with proper interest since the power structure of the society will depend upon this
scenario. The community support and place-based relationships must be mentioned in this
context since the common people will already feel the impacts of the policies to be implemented
by the government.
The aspects of the climate and weather change are also something that can be related with
the settler colonialism. It should be remembered that the settlers within the colonies must look to
think about the various incidents that would deepen their hold on the structure of the society. The
tropical climates and their effects on the settler colonialism must be considered properly.
Otherwise, it would have not been possible for the settlers to adjust with the weather situations
and live for a longer time (Bonds and Inwood 2016). This sustenance of the lives of the settler
colonials will be assessed on how they have combated with the different sections of the states
with the present indigenous people. The critics have highlighted the fact that these people of the
settler colonialism should always look to acknowledge all these issues. Otherwise, it would have
been impossible for the organizations to provide the colonizers of different continents with all
necessary articles. The context of agriculture in these new lands must also be discussed and
identified (Pasternak 2014).
The realities of the colonial period must be maintained and the people should be made
aware of all these realities. On the basis of this practical awareness on the scenario, it must be
pointed out that the colonial realities are largely associated with the imperial system of the
