In the report, a portfolio will be made for job requirement of Web and Database Engineer in a
company named STFC (Science and technologies facilities council) which is a UK based
company and dealing with mobile applications development, web designing and software
development. The portfolio will include the details of the job with major responsibilities for
the job and skills that are needed for the job profile. A cover page for the application for job
and a resume will be made for the evidence of required set of skills. In the end, a reflective

Introduction of the company
STFC is a leading and developing company dealing with research on renewable energy. ERU
(Energy research unit) is responsible for research. It also runs UKERC (Energy Data Centre)
which is responsible for the information process related to energy research. The company is
dealing with thousands of energy researcher and believe in authentic data by databases. The
company is looking to hire those employees who are dedicated towards achieving objectives
of the company by giving their best efforts. We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative
web developer with excellent educational background.
Major responsibilities for the job:
The main responsibility of database and web engineer is to maintain and update the database
of ERU and design visual images required for the applications while ensuring that they relate
the usefulness of clients. The Database and wen engineer has to prepare and analyse the
database of the company and then provide the data to energy units. Aim of the job is to make

continuous improve and update the database according to time and research with an effective
appearance of website with maintaining the standard of the content involved with the website
or applications (A Felstead, 2019).
The Database and web Engineer is responsible for timely updations of database with
designing the website or application with the help of coding and decoding. Sometimes the
Database and web Engineer has to make modifications and changes according to the
requirements and preferences of the clients. Usually the engineer has to take the help of the
web tools like: Perl, Linux, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Panic Coda, Photoshop, Firefox
developer and many other web tools (JJ Zhao, 2019).
Both technical and non-technical skills are required to update and design the website which
exactly matches towards the expectations of energy researcher. The successful
implementation of the website and databases are very much depends up on the web and data
engineer (R Bodily, 2019). Moreover a lot of dedication, hard work and constant
improvement are needed to design a website with unique design and features.
Major responsibilities for the job are as follows:
