EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP1
Being the CEO of an automobile company, I have experienced the power of
leadership. I believe that effective leadership is recognized through an individual’s credibility
of making the entire system work and function with an empowering spirit. I have always
addressed my motive in an open environment saying that in the market of diverse startup
culture, there is a necessity of having a well-efficient leader in every company to retain the
competitive spirit. However, from the referred article, I gained more insights regarding the
effective leadership model. Based on the model, I oriented my essay in six paragraphs having
the traits of Gibbs cycle that includes introduction, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion
and action plan. With the help of Gibbs cycle, I focussed on the deliverance of in-depth
analysis on the role of effective leadership and how power is significant to leadership roles.
Feelings
I have always been well determined and zealous towards my role, as I have
committed myself towards a high scale authoritative position due to which I gained an
immense power to control the environment provided with sense of responsibilities. In
addition, I always look forward to grooming my fellow colleagues and subordinates to
enhance their leadership skills so that they can teach or help other people in gaining effective
skills of leadership. Through my 8 years of experience in the position of CEO, I felt
enthralled while learning needful skills regarding effective leadership became motivated
towards creating better leaders for the future generation as it would help the organization
retain its legacy and culture. Such initiatives help an organization or a company to retain an
immense favorable recognition across the globe. I always make sure to connect my people
and maintain a good relationship and further aspire them to take leads. Initially, I did face
some problems in understanding my people’s various issues, which led to unwanted
consequences, yet I did gain a sense of empathy by working with people who are from a

diverse background. Gradually, I started helping them in resolving their problems and helped
them in gaining better knowledge regarding corporate culture and work environment.
Evaluation
As per my opinion, every leader must understand the amplitude of their power first.
This is because, in my 8 years of professional experience, I received powers from various
factors such as authoritativeness in my position, being a figure of inspiring persona and
preserving good relationships and also for being well informative and promising. In addition,
I gained power for being skilled and recognized expertise in my domain. Therefore, it is
necessary for a person to know how he or she should utilize these heaps of powers rightfully.
Furthermore, being a CEO of a company, I did encourage the power to recognize hard
working people and reward them for maintaining and developing standards but along with
that, I also made sure of holding the power of punishment in order to avoid failures and
harmful effects on others. These powers are needed to be well understood and used rightfully
to maintain certain standards and expectations of the company. A leader can assess his
motivating role on people by delivering an agenda. One may prefer someone else’s agenda in
order to set an example of great mentors (McCaffery, 2018). This process develops
leveraging a promising relationship with an employee. Some leaders deliver their own agenda
by highlighting their own projects and illustrate the priority, targets and the responsibilities
that every employee must follow (Ghasabeh, Soosay & Reaiche, 2015). According to me,
leadership is a part of the social phenomenon provided with the power to motivate, influence
and mobilize. Without power, one is constrained as he or she becomes dependent on others,
resulting in certain outcomes, which are determined by others. On the contrary, with power,
one is free of such constraints (McCaffery, 2018). Leadership and power thereby are
compliments to each other as both of the factor construct influence, focus on targets, develops
relationships and unity (Ghasabeh, Soosay & Reaiche, 2015). I even encountered that leaders
