INTRODUCTION
Personal and Professional skills are known or referred with varied names such as people
skills and in more professional terms as interpersonal skills. The skills and capabilities of an
individual makes them potential enough to work in a competitive professional world in their
respective career fields. The personal and professional skills are divided into hard and soft skills
which and are defined as follows. Personal skills are addressed as soft skills which are developed
by the individual, a student or a professional in the course of their life that enable them to lead a
valuable life. Professional skills are commonly known as hard skills or technical skills which are
some specific proficiencies which are taught and gained by persons while studying in school,
college and in their jobs. The professional and personal skills are addressed as employability
skills as well which makes the person employable as every employer look for such capabilities in
their employees and in new comers while making recruitments. The present report is constructed
on these personal and professional skills of the person with keeping their focus highly on
Personal and Professional Development (PDP) and on the process. Thus, in continuation a
Personal and professional development plan is developed. According to the plan SWOT analysis
is constructed for knowing other leakages and those areas which requires further improvements.
Moreover, with effective assessment and evaluation of individual strengths and weaknesses a
Continuous Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) is constructed.

Define Personal and Professional Development
Personal development is a lifelong process that goes on as the individual grows with age,
their mindsets changes as per the life situations they face and as per their willingness to learn and
become a better human being. It is a way for people to assess their skills and qualities, consider
their aims in life and set goals in order to realise and maximise their potential. Some of the
example of dependability, adaptability, motivation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Professional development refers to the continued and on going training and education of
persons in regards to their career and future goal achievement. The goal of professional
development is to keep the individuals up to date and skilled enough to perform their assigned
duties and tasks. Also, professional development enable in keeping people upgraded on current

trends along with it help them in developing new skills for the purpose of advancement in the
field and their respective career industry.
Professional development concept is also used in renewing certification and licences
ensuring the individuals are skilled and upgraded according to current standards and policies.
People typically pursue professional development on their own with their wish through programs
offered by educational institutions, professional organizations and most commonly by the
employers under whom they are working.
Personal and Professional development is aimed to help an individual in managing and
effectively increasing their learnings, make developments and grow throughout their career for
seeking higher position in workplace and enhancing their skill sets while grabbing more and
more career opportunities. It is an on going and important process for engaging in improved
learnings, keep the personal and professional skill sets upgraded and updated according to the
requirements of the market and the employer and help the person in continuing their work
practices in safe and legal manner with utmost efficiency.
Personal and Professional Development planning process
A professional development plan document has been helping in developing of goals,
required with skills and competency through development and objectives with individuals in this
accomplishment is required to support accomplishment for making continuous development
possible of career. Professional development plan is being created by managers to work closely
with the staff that helps in identifying of skills and resources required to support individuals in
achieving goals and objectives set by an organization. In this various steps is being included that
has been explained as follows:
Step One: Request a self-assessment from the individual
In this step individuals makes complete self- assessment through developing of interest,
skills, values, and personality. Use the sample performance planning and self-assessment. Within
the process of evolution individual's responses and keep certain questions in mind that is.
What skills, career opportunities, technologies interest the individual?
Do those interests and goals support the organization's needs and goals?
What are the short and long term steps to get there?
Step Two: Develop your assessment of the individual's skill level
